December 3, 2021: Week 13 Preview Cardinals at Bears

posted in: Bears | 0

How about some of that Bulls, Blackhawks mojo from Thursday night rub off on the Bears this Sunday? Somebody asked me if I was putting money on the Bears this weekend… ha! That’s dead money… kind of like the Bears season. Sure, we got a little injection of good feelings on Thanksgiving with the win against the Lions that feels forever ago, but beating the Lions is like the bare fricking minimum.

The Bears are 7 point underdogs at home this week, and the Cardinals probably will not even have their QB or top WR play; I think that tells you everything you need to know about this one. Oh yeah, one more thing… Andy Dalton will be starting for the Bears; this may push the line higher… No fricking way I’m putting money on the Bears this weekend. Yes, every bet is a 50/50 proposition, but this one feels worse, although… by the same logic I used with the Hawks-Caps last night, maybe the Bears cover??? Win outright??? Doubtful. I said it before and I’ll say it again: At this point, I’m only looking for one more win, and that’s in Lambeau next week, although we’re probably be looking at a double digit line… just shoot me.

Are these the last days of Nagy? Pace? It sure feels like it. I know last year I wanted Pace’s head, and it didn’t happen; did Pace do that much more since then to warrant getting shit canned, or are we just doing it retro to all of the reasons he should have been shown the door last year? As far as Nagy… I was OK with giving him one more year, letting him coach out his contract this year. He did, and I think it’s safe to say, Nagy is not an offensive genius… so there’s that. Is he a good head coach? It doesn’t feel like it. All the locker room whispers over the year… BS or nah? I don’t know, but at this point… and I’m all for continuity, but… feels like it’s a good time for a clean break from both of them, yet my biggest question with all that is “who’s next?” and will they be better. Can they be worse?

Final Score Prediction: Cardinals 20 Bears 10

Ace in the Hole: Mooney catches a TD pass… that’s all I got.

Speaking of WRs, what’s up with ARob? Certainly look like his days in a Bears uniform will be coming to an end after this season. I think I’m OK with that, although did we ever see him at his full potential? Was it the offense, our QBs, or was it him? Probably a mix of all 3, but certainly don’t think we should pay him big money; a reasonable contract sure, although what contracts are reasonable any more these days?

OK, yeah, I’ll be tuning in, taking a break from decorating the house; yeah, it’s NOT decorated yet. Who the hell decorates for Christmas before Thanksgiving?!?! Anyways, time to “get in the mood” this weekend, and I won’t let the Bears ruin it, even if they do lose as expected. Bear Down!
