I was ready for a Chicago sports filled Friday night. With the Blackhawks playing early, and the Bulls playing late, I was locked and loaded. As the time rolled around, I started to look for the Blackhawks game. It wasn’t on NBC Chicago like they normally are… Maybe ESPN? TNT? That other channel that shows hockey? I could not find them. My wife told me relax, you have 5 minutes until the game starts. I wasn’t relaxed; I was getting pissed. So I checked the Blackhawks TV schedule, and to my surprise, they were NOT on TV tonight… WTF?!?! They were on ESPN+ and Hulu… that sucks. As I checked the rest of the schedule, there are a few times when this is true; what the hell is going on?
I do have a site that I go to for some pirated streaming, so that’s what I did. After clicking through a dozen ads, I finally had the game on my phone, but this isn’t what I’m going to do. I wasn’t going to sit on my phone and watch the whole game. I would have to check updates instead. I saw the highlight reel Kane flying down the ice flipping it to DeBrincat for the first goal. I saw the Dylan Strome goal, and his comments after the game which took a parting shot at Colliton. I saw Dach get elbowed in the face without a penalty being called. I saw the Hawks win their 3rd in a row, now undefeated under coach Derek King. Let’s ride this as long as we can.
I wouldn’t have an issue finding the Bulls game, since they were on ESPN for the late national game of the night. The game started off pretty nicely, with Lavine starting hot, leading the Bulls to an early lead. In the 2nd quarter though, the tide slowly started turning, as the Warriors flipped the script, and opened up a lead heading into halftime. I started seeing guys like DeRozan and Ball having a bad shooting night, which continued throughout the game. Add in the fact that the Bulls were without Vooch, and it started to feel like a Bulls game from the previous couple years. The 3rd quarter was an absolute shit show, as the Warriors put this one out of reach, even for the great 4th quarter Bulls. Newsflash: the Warriors are a good team, the best team record wise in the NBA.
