October 15, 2021: Week 6 Preview Packers at Bears

Well, well, well… the Bears welcome the Packers to Soldier Field on Sunday; isn’t that special? Yes, a familiar foe indeed… most hated foe; not even the birds from “the Lou” nor the team du jour loaded with stars that LeBron plays for can take that title away from them. These feelings run deep… for good reason; won’t go through it all again, but if you’re really interested, this will give you an idea where I’m coming from:

Fast forward to week 6 of the 2021 season. The Packers are in first place… again. But the Bears… stop the presses… have a winning record, sit one game behind the Packers in the standings, and have our QB of the future playing the QB of today for us… Yeah, is the tide finally turning? I’ve been waiting for a long time… for the horseshoe to fall out of the ass of the cheese who lucked into back to back franchise QBs, who each have the same amount of Super Bowl wins as Trent Dilfer by the way, but who’s counting… Yeah, the whole counting thing usually goes way back to before the Super Bowl for these two franchises, although facts are facts: the Packers have more of those and more Super Bowls than us, period. They’ve owned us in recent history, period. Does this make me hate them more? Yes. Will this finally be changing? Stay tuned.

It’s like a broken record… hoping for this to happen. We’ve had our moments over the last couple decades in this rivalry, but they haven’t been nearly enough. Sunday will be the first taste for Fields; hoping for a good first impression. With the GB QB turning into a diva, preparing for his game show host career after football, let’s look to the future: one that is quarterback-less for the Pack, one that is a two decade, multi-Super Bowl trophy era for Fields. Let me dream a little…

Papa Vegas tells us we’re not ready yet… favoring the Pack by 4.5 in Chicago. Yet, I’m OK with that. What have we really done to change that thus far? Beating the Lions? Ha! Beating the Raiders, who obviously were distracted by what else was going on… at least that’s what I’m hearing from my Raider fan buddy looking for excuses… haha. Yeah, having a winning record is great right now, but I think it’s about time we get a signature win. What say you?

Final Score Prediction: Bears 31 Packers 27

Ace in the Hole: Justin Fields 4 total TDs

Back to my dream… Rodgers doesn’t have to get hurt (I don’t wish that upon anyone)… he can just fade away into the sunset… his career… was… pretty good. To win a Super Bowl title is quite an accomplishment, but certainly we won’t confuse him with any of the greats over the years. Yes, his brighter days are ahead of him, hosting Jeopardy, Double Dare, or some new game show they make up for him. I’m sure he can even get a paid temp gig on Dancing with the Stars… surely ESPN will hire this guy whose ass they’ve been kissing. Yes, fly away little cheesie… fly away… you can sit there and watch, as the new sheriff in town comes in… and shifts this division back into the hands of its rightful owner. This starts Sunday… right? Bear Down!!!!!!!!!!
