October 12, 2021: Tear Jerker

posted in: Cubs, White Sox | 0

Man, rough day on Tuesday during the MLB playoffs. To see the Brewers and White Sox eliminated on the same day, after the Cardinals had already been eliminated… I had to wipe a tear from my eye. Yeah, reallll tear jerker Tuesday night, let me tell ya.

Poor Milwaukee… wait a second, they just won a championship with the Bucks, and I actually like Giannis; they should be really happy. But yeah, to have a football team pissing away the years that their 2nd franchise QB in a row is playing at a high level, that must suck pretty bad. But the Brewers… this was their year, no? No… no, it wasn’t. They were whooping it up pretty good seeing the Cubs implode this year, taking full advantage of it, and running away with the division; good for them. With their pitching, oh man, their pitching… nobody was going to be able to hit them. Welp, there goes that. I got a text talking about the sweet swing of Freddie Freeman; I quickly checked my phone, and yep… he went deep in the bottom of the 8th off none other than Josh Hader… I clicked my heels in my head. I checked back to see if it was over, and saw Yelich, Christian Yelich the hitter from another world a couple years ago, ahem, who might have had some help, strike out looking to end the Brewers dream season. Yeah, I usually like to root for teams that have never won; the Brewers certainly qualify for that. Did you know they have NEVER, EVER won a World Series? Anyways, if they ever do win one… I’m sure they will one year… I wouldn’t be crushed, because of that very reason, but to see them flame out in the playoffs… I ain’t mad about that either.

Then there’s our little brothers from the southside. Yeah, the Sox, and all their fans with the little brother syndrome to their big brother the Cubs, took one firmly on the chin to end their “historic” season. Not sure what was so historic about it… oh yeah, they did make the playoffs for the first time ever in back to back seasons, so there’s that. But yeah, when I heard what Tepera had said after the Sox only win of the series… I thought that was mighty stupid; any time you give the other team a reason, is just flat out dumb. Yeah, I know the Astros are the newest cheaters in MLB, but let’s not forget who the original cheaters were… yeah, it’s that team you’re playing for Ryan; what a dipshit. And one more thing: didn’t your numbers tank after the MLB outlawed the sticky stuff? Oh yeah, you were injured… right. Nevertheless, the Astros came out and tore the Sox a new asshole in Game 4, ending their season, just like last year, without a playoff series win. Kind of surprising actually. I knew the Astros were good, and that it would be a tough matchup. I knew the Sox played in the easiest division in baseball, and sucked against good teams. I was worried that the Sox pitching wouldn’t last. Well, I guess it’s not that surprising.

Yeah, misery loves company; come over here, sit next to me, and let’s talk Bears, and how they’re going to pile it on the fans from up north and beat the Pack on Sunday. Let’s turn on the Blackhawks to watch their season opener on Wednesday night. Hey, the Bulls are looking promising too this year. Baseball season, which has been over for me for months, is now officially over. Well, I guess the only thing left is to see the Dodgers lose; I’m confident that Dave Roberts will find a way to help manage that. What was that about the Hawks season opener on Wednesday night?
