First Schwarber, then Rizzo, and now KB. Kris went deep late Friday night, and oh yeah, went 3-3 in the Giants Game 1 victory over the Dodgers. How does this make you feel?
Well, I talked about how I felt about the first two; I wasn’t upset. Schwarber leaving sucked, but only really pissed me off when I found out who the Cubs replaced him with; oh yeah, Joc Pederson also homered in his first playoff game, but nobody cares about that. Rizzo should have never wore another uniform his entire career; he was the one guy, that if you were going strictly on emotions, should have been a Cub forever. KB… well, he was the one guy, that if you were using your brain, should have been a Cub forever. Being the last guy traded right at the deadline, I thought for a second Cubs management would salvage something, but no… they went full out in their stupidity; we’ve been over this. But since we’re on it, I remember seeing a first version of the return, which was pretty good, but that was fake news. The return, just as the return for all the big boys, was shitty, but that’s Jed for you; I understand why you trust him this offseason…
The one guy whose return was halfway decent was Kimbrel; he made his playoff debut for the Sox on Friday. It didn’t go well. He was in the middle of the Astros extending their lead to blowout proportions. Yeah, what’s up with the Sox? Well, the positive person would say all that happened in Houston was that the Astros held serve, winning their home games; the negative person may say being down 0-2 is a death sentence. I think it’s somewhere in between. The Sox certainly aren’t done by any means. They haven’t played a home game yet. Win their home games, and setup a winner take all game is now the formula. Yet, they still do have to win one in Houston, since the Astros did have the home field advantage; I guess that’s kind of important?

He should have been the one guy to get paid; you think the Giants are going to let him go now? If they’re as stupid as the Cubs they won’t resign him… Having KB as part of our future would make it a whole hell of a lot brighter, yet… like Anthony and Kyle, I’m happy for him. He didn’t deserve all the BS; like the other guys, it DID impact his play on the field… just like I said. IF the Cubs had resigned these guys instead of dumping them at the 23rd hour, this season would have went a little different; I know it, although there is no way to prove it…. except the fact that this core made the playoffs 5 out of 6 years… so… but that wasn’t good enough, obviously. OK waiting on you Jed to build a team to get us another World Series; good luck you chump.
Are there any other ex-Cubs out there that will hit a home run in this postseason? Haha… I didn’t realize 2AM, better known as Tommy LaStella was leading off for the Giants; good for him. Good for all of them. We knew you guys had it in you; helping break the longest sports drought in history doesn’t happen with guys that DON’T have it in them. Now, hopefully one of you will get your 2nd ring; it’s just a travesty that it isn’t with the Cubs, but no, I’m not still bitter… no, not me… I closed the door on the season already… I’m good..
