Maybe it’s just social media that really blows this up, or media in general, but what’s up with all this talk about vaccinations with the major league baseball teams, specifically on the Cubs? Rizzo, Heyward, and Arrieta are all part of the group of Cubs players that will NOT get the COVID vaccination; it seems like a lot of people really care about this… I don’t.
I’ll start off by saying I did get the vaccine. To me, it’s a no brainer. Anyone I’ve talked to about the subject, I will share that opinion, and tell them that I think it’s a good idea. In the next breath, I say, at the end of the day, it’s your decision though. I guess there’s something wrong with those two things going hand in hand? Am I supposed to be mad at someone for choosing not to get a shot?
It’s my understanding, based on the conversations with my doctor, that those of us who choose to get the vaccine are doing what we can to protect ourselves and others. I then asked him about “mixed events” of vaccinated and non-vaccinated folks; he said WE, the vaccinated bunch, would be protected, while the others would be more at risk. So… with that being said, those that choose to not get the vaccination are only putting themselves at risk, right? You can still get COVID vaccinated or not, you can still pass it on either way, it’s just that being vaccinated will make it a lot less unpleasant to deal with… again, from my understanding. It’s not like I’m out here doing a ton of research on the topic, other than the 15 minute conversation I had with my doctor, so… maybe I’m missing something… it wouldn’t be the first time.

I guess that goes the same for each one of us. None of us have walked in the others’ shoes. We don’t know other people’s journey, and what has shaped their thoughts, opinions on certain topics. But if somebody like Rizzo, who has already been through some pretty serious medical shit, is going to make the decision not to get the vaccine, who are we to judge? I don’t get it… maybe that’s just it… I don’t get it… haha.
I’ve been feeling that way about a lot of stuff lately; I just don’t get it. What’s that song… the longer you live, the more things you see, the less you know… something like that. That’s certainly fits where my brain is at nowadays…
I do know I’m not going to get pissed at people who choose not to get vaccinated. I do know that people have to make the best decisions for themselves and their families; I can’t knock that. We’re all trying our best here… well, hopefully we are… like there’s only one right way to do things. It’s just stupid… the shit I see people argue about. Anyways… back to your regularly scheduled programming…
