It’s been a little more than 13 years, and he’s still going… and not just going, going strong. Over time, superstars eventually fade; time is the only one who remains undefeated. Kane will most certainly move into #3 on the Blackhawks all-time list this year when he passes Steve Larmer at 406; that only leaves Mikita at 541 and papa Hull at 604. Yeah, I don’t think anybody needs a reminder here, but this guy is a legend… one that we still get to watch do his thing every night with the Hawks.
I like what Brandon Hagel said the other night after scoring his first career goal off a nice pass by Kane; something along the lines of telling his kids who had the assist on his first goal… a legend. Yeah, we know Brandon; a lot of the young Hawks are learning too. All and all, there have been 5 Blackhawk rookies who have scored their first career goal this year. It’s not surprising that with the goalie situation heading into the season, and the amount of young guys on the roster, that we thought this season may be a flush; sometimes I’m happy to be wrong. I guess I should have known better, because as long as we have Patrick Kane, we have a chance to do something; we’re seeing it more than ever this year.

We’ll still enjoy the heck out of it, and then start counting towards 500, as we continue to watch Kaner do his thing. Helping this Blackhawk team to the playoffs this year would be one of his most impressive accomplishments. Keep it up 88 and Go Hawks!!!
