I should have known better. I thought the Rams had an outside chance to win which would have allowed me to enjoy the remainder of the NFL postseason, but nope; Packers beat them rather easily. Same with the Bucs, and that whole beating a team three times in a season; the Saints couldn’t do it. And now I have to watch Brady vs Green Bay… ugh!
Hey, at least the AFC game will be fun to watch. The obvious team that I would want to win it all is Buffalo. I like their team. The whole Bills mafia thing is cool. Leslie Frazier as the DC is a nice connection. Their QB was raised on a cantaloupe farm. They’ve had all those chances, but came up short, racking up a bunch of painful losses on the big stage; they’ve never won it all. Let’s go Buffalo! They face the team I would want to win next though. Mahomes is a stud and all, but the Chiefs just won; I’m sure they’ll win more. I’d much rather see the Bills do it, but if the Chiefs beat them on Sunday, I’ll be rooting for them. The NFC side of the bracket is a shit show right now…
Tom Brady? Seriously… I have to root for HIM this weekend? Ugh… but yes, that is a true statement. Yeah, he’s an all time great QB, in the GOAT conversation, whatever… but enough is enough with this guy. Maybe people think he’ll prove to everybody he can win without cheating, the Patriot way, and without his daddy Belicheat. I don’t care about any of that. I hope the Bucs get their ass kicked… in the Super Bowl. There is no team or individual I wouldn’t root for against the Packers; there is no hate that trumps that.

Once the Bears got knocked out, I changed gears to rooting against anybody playing the Packers easily. This just doesn’t happen in this instance; this is something that is consistent every week of every season. It gets worse in the playoffs. Imagining the Packers in another Super Bowl makes me sick, literally. I won’t watch the game… the last time they were in, Rodgers one and only Super Bowl, against the Steelers, I went to the gym to play basketball. Yep, who gives a shit. That may not be the exact same thing this time around if the Packers were to win on Sunday. Of course I have a son now, he’s getting older, my wife will ensure we do something to celebrate the occasion of Super Bowl Sunday, which is most appreciated, however, I will not enjoy it; I will be consumed with hoping the Packers lose, and will get more and more pissed at every call that goes their way. It sucks.
So… go Bucs!?!? I cannot even sit and watch that game. I’ll keep an eye on the score; I’ll tune in if the Packers are losing and/or are about to lose. That will bring me great joy. But if the Packers win, which I think they will, then Super Bowl Sunday will suck. I’ll love the family time, always do; I’ll enjoy the feast whatever it is. But the game itself will be brutal. If the Packers do end up losing though… on the biggest stage… well, that will certainly salvage it… that will certainly bring an outstanding, second best possible ending to the NFL season. Enjoy Championship Sunday; I’ll try… hopefully, I will.
