December 26, 2014: Bears Vikings II Preview

posted in: Bears | 2

Who really gives a crap?  One thing is sure, that this season WILL end on Sunday in Minnesota, and that is a good thing.

The anticipation for me is all about that Monday AFTER the game.  Who will be fired?  Don’t give me a press conference that says we’ll give it another go next year with the same guys.  That would be worse than any result from Sunday’s finale.

Papa Vegas still has to set lines for these meaningless games, and again, he messes with Bears fans.  It was bad enough he raked in on the over/under win total of 8.5 for the season, he continues to rape us time and time again against the spread.  The Bears are 6-9 ATS for the season… one game better than their actual win total.  For this one, he is giving us 6 points.  Would it really be that difficult to put your hard earned money on the Vikes in this one?  Even after the Bears covered last week against Detroit, you really don’t think that the previously benched pout face will come in and give a crap do you?  This Minnesota team is actually playing for more than us; they’ve been on a slight upswing, and to beat us, will confirm our spot in the NFC North basement coming out of this year.  If there is any play in this game, it’s on the Vikings.

OK, so Cutler is back.  Does he screw us in the draft by having his best game of the season?  That’s what I’ve seen some people saying…  I wouldn’t doubt Jay screwing us in every way possible, I just wouldn’t bet on THIS being one of them.  This would require some effort, some want, and some deep down desire to play your best in the season finale of a dreadful season in a meaningless game.  This is why it’s a no brainer that he will look just as he’s looked the majority of this season, and that’s like a piece of crap.  So will we just run the ball?  Don’t even ask me that question.

The defense played pretty well last week.  Should they be able to perform well against this Vikings team?  Yes, of course.  But they should have also been able to hold the Packers under 42 points in the first half in the game coming off the bye week.  They should have also not made Ryan Tannenhill look like Dan Marino earlier this year.  They should have also not had numerous miscommunications that caused big play after big play, big point total after big point total.  I’m not betting ANYTHING on this defense, although I have a little more faith in them than I do the offense under #6, and that’s saying something, and it ain’t nothing good.

Final Score Prediction–>  Vikings 30 Bears 17

Ace in the Hole–>  Special Teams scores a TD

I’d like to thank everyone for participating in the final score and ace in the hole predictions throughout the season.  You are what made this site more fun.  Thank you and keep coming back and adding your input as much as you can.

The NFL season will be over for the Bears after Sunday, and one of the most disappointing seasons will be in the books.  It was fun to write game previews and game recaps every week, regardless of how painful it was.  It actually helped me through the pain, and at the same time, made me feel a part of it that much more.  It was a double edge sword, but with anything that you love, writing these for me has been the easiest part of my daily blogs.  F this season, and let’s come back next year and Bear Down again!

The CBC is going to air out the ball b/c its his last game and he doesn’t care and I think the O-line will take offense to it. Look for the CBC to throw 2 picks and get sacked 4 times, but the Bears will still win.
