Money Time! Somebody got their money… Eddie Jackson got paid to the tune of 4 years for 58.4M, 33M of that guaranteed. Good for him. This makes him the highest paid safety in the NFL; is he the best safety in the NFL? I guess if you asked me that question last year, I would have said yes. His injury in the division clincher against Green Bay hurt us; with a healthy Eddie Jackson do we beat the Eagles and avoid double doink history? If you ask me that question right now, I can’t say. It’s tough to say after such a disappointing year, even on the defensive side of the ball. Turnovers were way down; the defense was very good, but not at the level it was the previous year.
I don’t mind the signing. I like him for the most part. It’s another move from the Bears who have been busy since the season officially ended last week; I like it. Keep this going. The one thing I can say that is “bad” about Eddie is his feelings about the fans booing. He doesn’t believe in it; he expects 100% support even when the team is sucking. Well, couple things: just because we boo doesn’t mean you don’t have our 100% support, and secondly, for us that ride this roller coaster with the team, which sometimes feels like we care more than some of the players, we are entitled to express our opinions. Now I’m not in support of dumb ass fans throwing stuff, saying derogatory stuff, or confronting individual players whether in person or on social media, however, if I feel like booing, which is pretty rare personally, I will boo. I was a fan of the Bears before you, and I will be a fan after you. We can agree to disagree though… Congrats Eddie; let’s see some more TDs from you and the defense next year.
As far as this year goes, yes, there is still football to be played, let’s take a quick look at the first weekend of the playoffs. It starts off with Buffalo at Houston, which certainly looks like a trap game. Houston is favored by the scary 2.5 points at home. I don’t care who wins this one, but would certainly lean to Buffalo if I had to put some money on the game. Next is the Titans at Patriots. Obviously I want the Pats to lose; doesn’t everybody outside of Boston want that? The line is 5, which seems very tricky as well. But Papa Vegas knows what he’s doing… Will he rack up with a Titans straight up victory?

Can’t seriously considering putting money on Kirk Cousins in a big game. I think this may be Saints big, although maybe that’s what Papa wants us to think… Finally, Seahawks at Eagles. Can’t find myself rooting for the Eagles still fresh off last year’s fiasco. Don’t particularly care for the Seahawks, but… The line flipped from Philly -1 to Seattle -1.5… money coming in on Seattle… a home dog in the playoffs… usually not a formula for success. These lines are sharp…
So I’ll stay away from the sportsbook at Horseshoe for now… waiting for my moment to strike. Now if I had money like Eddie did…
