December 30, 2019: Ending on a Low Note

13-21 is where the Bulls sit after ending 2019 on a low note losing to the Bucks at the UC 123-102. And they said this part of our schedule was supposed to be the easy part…

Let’s face it; nothing looks easy for the Bulls. As we said goodbye to the 2019 Bears season, I’d like to do the same with the Bulls; only one problem: this same crap ass season will continue. On the bright side of things, the Bulls are only a couple games out of the playoffs.

What a joke that is; making the playoffs with an under 500 record. There may be 2 teams in each conference that fall into that category. The East is kind of crazy this year, with the top 6 teams already well established. The Bucks, Celtics, Heat, Raptors, Pacers, and 76ers can all start making their playoff plans, while the rest of the conference sits at 500 or under. The race for the first pick in the draft is already on between Atlanta and Golden State, who are both sitting at single digit wins; pathetic. Yeah, well, 13 wins ain’t that much better. I didn’t think we’d have to figure out if we’re tanking again or not this year…

The Bulls have shown flashes, as they did in the first half against the Bucks in this final loss of 2019; the Bulls were only 3 points down at the half. Besides Lavine, the Bulls looked OK in the first half; second half was a different story. Lavine sucked the whole game shooting 7-23 from the field. He can’t be expected to pour in 30 per night. Sitting at about 23 points per night, I think Zach is right about at the top of his range. Meanwhile, Lauri is averaging 15 points; he has been probably the biggest disappointment on the Bulls thus far. Is he setting himself up to be traded? He played OK on this evening, but there have been too many times where he just looks lost out there. The 1-2 punch that was supposed to be hasn’t been…

Where the heck is Otto Porter at? Thought he was only supposed to miss a game or two, then supposedly the injury was misdiagnosed, and now he’s missed 25 games this year already!?!? That certainly hasn’t helped our cause; that’s a very good excuse for Boylen to use when he meets with the two headed GarPax dopes. Wendell has been OK; I feel like he can be much better. Coby has been up & down like a typical rookie. Overall, it’s been another year in the crapper. With a tougher schedule ahead, even with making the playoffs at under 500 a real possibility, we’re going to have to hope these other teams rest their star players when they play us…

I’d love to reset right now. Maybe that’s what I should do. Maybe we should gauge the Bulls season on their performance in the 2nd half; giving them a mulligan on their first half? I don’t know… just trying to think of some way to give myself hope with this team. Let’s see if we can start off 2020 undefeated on 1/2 against the Jazz… not likely though. Go Bulls…
