OK, let me slip this in before the game. I know it’s a little early for Bowl Season, but I have some ideas for this Thursday night tilt between the Cowgirls and the Bears. How about the “Train Wreck” bowl? Or maybe the “Underachievement” Bowl? The “Disappointment” Bowl? Any way you look at it, it’s ashamed we have to see this on prime time. To have this game stand alone by itself for all to see; just another embarrassing moment for the Bears on the big stage. Thankfully, they have partners for this dance.
Papa Vegas set this line just right: Dallas -3. At first thought, I loved the Bears in this match up; then I remembered which Bears team we’re talking about. This isn’t 2018 any more! Sure, the Bears have won 2 straight games; thankfully we found teams worse than us. And yes, the Cowboys have the same exact record as us; and yes, it will be cold weather for this one. But after further review, if I was a gambling man, I’m liking the Cowboys to paste us. Sorry.
And that sucks, you know? I hate the Cowboys; only 2 teams in the NFL I hate worse than them right now: The untouchable Packers, and the cheating ass Patriots. The overrated, underachieving Cowboys make me sick. They haven’t been crap since the Aikman-Smith-Irvin days. They’re living on their past glories, just like some of our local teams. They’re always supposed to be contenders, and always flame out; this year is no exception. Yeah, so they still lead their division at 6-6; that’s pathetic! So what if they sneak into the playoffs, they’re going to get pasted again, and I’ll love to see it. Unless of course they match up with the Pack, then I’ll be cheering for the ‘Boys.
But back to tonight… do I believe Mitch can have a great game against a decent team? Do I believe that Nagy will figure out how to call a successful, balanced game on offense? Do I believe that the Bears defense will sack the QB? Do I believe the Bears D will cause some turnovers? I’ll tell you what: I hope all of the above happens, and we get our 3rd straight win. I just can’t see it right now. I’m stuck in a negative rut with the Bears, still coming to grips with falling so short of expectations for the season. Now if we can just do that for another 20 years, we’ll be in the Cowboys category.

I hate to pick against the Bears, but I’m trying everything I can, even reverse psychology, to turn this dud of a season into a miracle. I’m going to keep on keeping on and tune in to watch, hoping for a Bears win. They didn’t embarrass us on Thanksgiving; hope we can get through this one with the same result. Bear Down!!!
