November 1, 2019: Week 9 Bears at Eagles preview

posted in: Bears | 0

Well, well, well… Didn’t expect to be 3-4 at this point of the season. But like I said last week before Mitch put us in position to win, forget everything that happened before this point. We can’t change any of that now. The only thing we have control over is how we’re going to play from this point forward. It’s down the tubes, or back in the mix. And what better team to provide this make or break opponent than the team that eliminated us last year, the Philadelphia Eagles.

They sit at 4-4, a half game ahead of the Bears. They’re coming off a win in Buffalo, and heading back home to host our reeling Bears. It’s perfect really. We should have never lost to this team in the playoffs last year, these bums who exited the next week. But we did, and it hurt. It ended our magical, under the radar season far too short. Now, in the season of great expectations, the Bears appear to be crumbling. With our season on the line, we head into a huge revenge spot. If this Bears team has any cojones, now is the time to let them swing.

Of course there will be familiar faces that we’re lined up against on Sunday. Jordan Howard has been doing well in his new home, a place that seems to be committed to the run; of course that’s why we traded him. We wanted to give him an opportunity with a team that is actually good at running the ball; imagine being on a team that will actually run the ball with any consistency. Yeah, Alshon is still over there. Soft tissue injury ass chump. Then there’s that OL that did a great job against our D last year, including Mack, including helping the Eagles score the game winning TD on 4th down. Yeah, we’ve certainly looked like we’ve missed Hicks the last couple weeks; I’m still waiting to see the aggressive Pagano that I read about when he was named DC.

On the other side of the ball, will the Nagy-Trubisky combo that we expected to flourish this year, put together a solid 60 minute effort? Is it the play calling? Is it the QB? Trubisky has disappointed; not sure Nagy has done him any favors either. Thanks again for last week too Eddy. We need wins. We need wins now. How bad do we want to turn this season around?
