Before we start this excavation, I’d like to regonize the end of the Cardinals season. What a glorious crash and burn in the NLCS for the birds; I seriously felt like lighting up a stogie. Other than seeing my team win, seeing a team I hate lose is pretty satisfying. The thing about it though, if I had to define the Cards season, I would say they overachieved, which is the exact opposite of what the Cubs did this year. You can’t tell me that on paper the Cards were better than the Cubs; you can’t tell me that more than a couple teams (Astros, Dodgers) had a better roster than us. I guess that’s a perfect lead in…
Let’s start from the top. It’s kind of like that question I’ve answered many times over the years on work surveys; do you have the proper tools/supplies/equipment to do your job. To apply that to the Cubbies, did the powers that be give Joe all the players that he needed to do his job? It’s been a popular opinion from what I’ve read, that this wasn’t the case; I’m not sure I agree. Sure, there have been missteps along the way in building this roster, but for the most part, I feel the answer to that question is YES!
Now one thing I did think was BS was the way this offseason was framed; we don’t have money to spend. Sorry, I call that bluff every time. I get it; there has to be some kind of limit on the money spent on a major league roster. You can’t have a limitless payroll, but the Cubs surely have as much money as anybody else in the MLB; according to the USA Today, that’s exactly right. The Cubs had the highest opening day payroll in the majors. Over $211 million dollars!!! So although I don’t believe there wasn’t more money in the coffers, seeing this makes me feel that Tom and Theo did more than enough. Factually, they did more than any other team, spent more than anybody on the 2019 roster. You can’t ask for more than that, can you?

Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is order tadalafil actually a combination of several types of intimate issues that hinder lovemaking.Well, short answer is yes, regardless of how unreasonable that sounds. We ask for perfection with every roster decision that’s made. We expect every single dollar that we spent to be worth it. We look for these big money guys we acquire to live up to those expectations. We want top level talent at every single level of the major league squad. We deserve it. Honesty, I think we were pretty close to having it. No? The part of the roster that was most picked on the most was the bullpen. So what did they do? We anted up and signed the best closer on the market. That’s what we all wanted, right? You’re damn right!
So based on my initial look, I think Joe was given more than enough to get the job done; I know you can’t put it all on him…we’ll get there. Sure, there were guys who didn’t pan out, guys that weren’t as advertised, didn’t perform up to previous levels…maybe we’re starting to figure out one of the reasons this season flamed out? But if you’re going to criticize Tom and Theo, I cannot co-sign. Moving on…
