Each game holds something different. Each game either feels like the highest of highs, or the lowest of lows. This 162 game ride is not for the faint of heart; it’s rough on us who let it all ride on each game. Maybe we need to tone it down… maybe for the first half of the season, but by now, it’s much too late. We’ve only got about 40 games left. The division race is tight. The heat is on. And… we’re still on the road, which makes this ride even rougher. Welcome to the 2019 Cubs.
The Cubs showed us another way to lose a game. A dropped pop up, striking out the opponent 14 times, another inept game by the offense, and one of the worst strike calls in a critical situation that I’ve seen. It all adds up to another road loss, which after a Cardinals win, brings our division lead down to 1 game. Buckle up people.
What the heck was Happ doing on that pop up? Yeah, I still get nervous on easy pop ups, and this is exactly why. Most guys nowadays don’t bother getting that 2nd hand up, and just snag it one handed. Almora makes me nervous with that too… the way he catches those, but he’s damn good. I wonder how many easy pop ups are dropped like that across the league each year. You just can’t drop that ball, period. Understanding errors will happen, but not one like THAT. It lead to the Phillies first run.

This is because the blood flow to cheap cheap viagra the penis, so that when a man is sexually aroused.Q let up one more run, but for God’s sake, the guy struck out 14 batters!!! What a performance by Q; it should have been more than enough for us to win the game, but then there’s the offense again. Jason Vargas? Really? Why do we get shut down by complete bums? But then I think… this guy is another slop slinger, and those are the guys we seem to struggle with. Still, no excuse why we couldn’t scratch out more than 2 runs… in this game, heck, with this roster, in ANY game. It’s unacceptable bottom line.
As the 9th inning started, the Cubs almost had a little something going, until Kemp was called out on a ball that may have been a strike to the tallest person in the league, and if the plate was a couple inches wider, on both sides. That call was absolutely horrendous, but of course it shouldn’t have come down to one strike call in the 9th inning. Still, looking at Twitter after the game, this was the same ump who called an even worse strike 3 call against Zobrist under Maddon with the Rays back in the day. You think this guy has a problem with Maddon, or are we just going with coincidence here? I get a bad call in the middle of the game, but come on… 9th inning, close game, you have to be on top of your stuff, or you won’t have a job… as the robot umps were called for again. Who knows if it would have mattered, but I would have loved to find out.
What we already know is that the Cubs suck on the road. Currently, 2-3 on this trip that still has 5 games to go. 6-4 is all I asked for… we seriously can’t accomplish that? OK, I’ll try to be patient, but I think we already established that is impossible at this point. Until next game… the ride continues. Go Cubs!
