Where has the last 100 gone?  Time flies when you’re having fun.  In the 200th edition of my daily blog, I look towards the future.

What does the future hold for us?  Where will I be 100 more blogs from here?  Where will this website be?

What will happen to the Bears in the second half?  What will the season hold for the Bulls and Blackhawks?  What will the hot stove that is Chicago Cubs, ok, Chicago baseball hold for us this winter?  That’s a whole lot of questions…

Joe Maddon joining the Cubs has been one of the best highlights of the past 100.  He is being brought in as the chosen one to lead us to the holy grail; to help us achieve the impossible; to break the curse.  Nothing excites me more than thinking of a Cubs World Series Title.  Following this off-season will be fun, as the Cubs look to build on the roster.  2015 will be a fun year in Wrigley.

What about those Sox?  Well, there is some stuff to talk about, like the Sox and Belisario parting ways.  OK, better than that will be the naming of Jose Abreu as rookie of the year, and the top 3 finish of Chris Sale in the Cy Young voting.  These are big time players that sit at the core of White Sox baseball for the future.  The question this year is to add or subtract.  Example 1A, Alexei Ramirez… keep him or trade him.  How about acquiring a big time free agent?  Victor Martinez’ name has been tossed around, and would be an outstanding addition.  In baseball, you’re always one year away.  Just like I believe the Cubs can contend next year, why can’t the Sox?  Once you can achieve .500, only a few more wins, and you’re in the wild card, and once you get in…  So baseball may be better than last year… it has to be… it will be.

The Bulls and the Blackhawks are expected to be great.  The Bulls have started hot, but DRose has been sidelined yet again.  This time way less serious, but it begs the question will he ever be 100% healthy?  Stick to your guns Bulls, and rest him if that’s the smart thing… let all the haters hate, and worry about what’s best for the Bulls and Rose.  He’ll need to get out there eventually, like he did for our visit to Milwaukee; appreciate that DRose.  The Bulls depth has been on full display, as well as, the improvement of Jimmy Butler.   Yeah, Pau Gasol has been a great addition down in the blocks for scoring, but Jimmy Buckets… he looks like he wants to be that guy; that guy that DRose was and may be again after it’s all said and done.  Jimmy G wants to get paid, and he’s out there playing his ass off.  This could all equal great things come springtime in the NBA playoffs.  The Hawks are struggling.  I thought this could be the year the Hawks chase greatness; maybe they should just worry about making the playoffs.  In a tough Western Conference, the Hawks sit outside of the playoff picture currently, and have one of the stars, Sharpie, out for a month.  Let’s not mess around boys.  I’m not worried yet, but they need to start playing better hockey… they will.

The Bears have been the biggest disappointment for me this year.  We knew the Sox and the Cubs were going to suck, but damn… the Bears too?  Well, there are still 8 games left, a whole half of season, that starts tonight in Lambeau.  I don’t want to bury the Bears yet… I want to watch meaningful football games for a while, and not mail it in early.  What more can a QB ask for on the offensive side of the ball?  Where do the Bears improve there?  On defense, it has been a struggle, especially with injuries factored in; that’s the side of the ball that will get more help in the draft, and rightfully so.  The offense has been the biggest disappointment, led by Jay the ultimate disappointer.  I sure hope he gets his shit together…. I sure hope the Bears do too… while there’s still time.

What about this blog, this website?  We’re going to keep it moving.  I’ve added some Hate Files, and will always have some more to add with my passion burning for my teams.  The Fantasy feature has been rough, while my picks continue to suck, while the lists have been status quo.  We’ve had our first guest blogger… a die-hard Raider fan, while we wait for more to join in on the fun.  What is next here at thelocalsportstalk?  I’m not sure, but I know I will continue to churn it out; I will continue to spill my guts about my teams, that’s what I do best.  Does it ever get boring?  There are lulls, but never, ever boring.  Don’t I have anything else to do?  Yes, actually I do… but this remains a big part of my life, and will for the foreseeable future.  Rooting for my sports teams, that is.  That has always been, and will always be, a big part of my life.  The passion burns strong in this one…

So with 200 in the books today, I just have to say thank you for reading, and thank you for commenting.  I appreciate every single comment, even if I don’t say it.  It’s these original comments and commenters that I will always remember, wherever I end up.  Will this site grow? YO, I don’t know, but it sure is fun, and it IS growing… daily.  Up to 200 posts now and almost 400 comments…  I’ll keep my end growing, this I know.  Thanks and talk tomorrow.
