May 15, 2019: Opening of the Window

8 years ago today… wow! It was the end of a memorable 12 months. In June 2010, we bought our condo; the same day we closed on it, we bought season tickets to the Bulls. If we were going to be broke, why not go all out? Some things never change. Yes, it was that year we would attend almost every Bulls home game. This was pre-blog unfortunately. That was quite a year for the Bulls. We saw that team developing right in front of our eyes. Yes, it was the opening of the window for those guys, and the peak of the year happened 8 years ago today.

There were other things that happened that year, like us adopting our dog. My wife wanted to go into the pound… I didn’t. I knew if we went in there, we would be walking out with a dog. I was right; I was fine with it. She was the quietest dog in there. With every other dog barking like crazy, she just sat there and looked up at us with those sad eyes. Yep, she found herself 2 suckers. In early 2011, we would finally make it official and tie the knot, topping it off with a 3 week European honeymoon; we had to sell our Bulls tickets during that timeframe. But we were back in plenty of time for the playoffs; the Bulls were the #1 seed. That meant they would be hosting every round, including the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat.

The WalkThroughs are both deeprootsmag.org purchase levitra online supervisory (underscoring the manager’s accountability) and supportive (providing the occasion for dialogue and coaching). The problem here though, is that most people fail, due in the main to a number of key pitfalls, sildenafil rx that are commonly faced when attempting business of this nature.

It ranked #4 on my list of best games I ever attended in person; I need to update that at some point. This is why we bought season tickets… to be there for these type of moments. Of course the journey to that point was more than enjoyable; so many great moments during that season. But that Game 1 against the hated Heat… that beatdown… yeah, that was sweet. Of course that was the game where Taj posterized Wade… we tore the damn roof off. The Bulls kicked the crap out of them. Unfortunately, like I said earlier, this game would be the peak of the season; it was a steep fall from that peak, losing 4 straight to end our season. That was painful.

I would say that was the best game in that window. Yes, the Bulls would follow that up with another #1 seed in the Eastern Conference season. But then came Game 1 against the Sixers; a game that will go down in infamy. Our son was just born a couple weeks before then; he was in his little Bulls outfit. We were living it up until IT happened. I was tearing up doing the dishes during the postgame. Why did the window have to shatter like that? Yes, we still had great moments after that, but it was never quite the same. It was never like that 2010-2011 season that we watched first hand. Nothing topped that Game 1 vs the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals that year. Just as we watched it open, we watched it close. And now, 8 years later, the elusive #7 is still out there… will another #7 pick help us get it? Only time will tell. Writing about these Bulls always brings back good vibes… thinking about what could have been always makes me sad… waiting for another Bulls team to make a run. Go Bulls!
