I don’t want to get used to this… the NBA and NHL playoffs without the Bulls and the Blackhawks. For the second year in a row, that’s exactly where we’re at. The result of that is very low interest in the two current postseasons.
Let’s start with the NBA. Who do I want to see win it all? With the absence of LeBum, I don’t have a team which I have to root against. Oh wait, I guess the Golden State Warriors can step right into that role. So… anybody but the Warriors? So when Cousins went down, I didn’t shed a tear. Sucks for him, but he seems like a big time jerk anyways. Plus the Warriors have won more than enough. If you know anything about me, if one team starts winning too much, I begin to hate them… unless of course it’s one of my teams. But the Warriors certainly fit that bill… As a matter of fact, I would not mind seeing the Clippers send them packing in the first round. Rather not see the Rockets, Spurs, or Thunder win it either. Nuggets, Blazers, and Jazz, along with the Clippers, would be my choices coming out of the West. As far as the East goes, I’m honestly OK with any team winning… OK, maybe not the 76ers after seeing that whole cell phone incident, and then with Simmons crying about getting booed… plus they have Buckets turned diva, so yeah, not them. And then there’s the franchise that has won more than any other; so no Celtics either. That leaves the Bucks, Raptors, Pacers, Nets, Magic, and Pistons… OK, no Pistons for old time’s sake. But yeah, the other 5 teams, I’m OK with. Either way you cut it, I’ll be watching none of the NBA playoffs. Up to this point, I’ve watched zero minutes; don’t plan on that getting above double digits if any at all.

Yeah, without my teams to root for, I’m zoned into the Cubs. Oh yeah, and then the Bears schedule is coming out soon. The next time I’ll be interested in the NBA or NHL is when the drafts roll around. Until then, Cubs all day every day, and looking forward to the Bears 100th season. Hopefully next year, I’ll be tuned into some basketball and hockey playoffs. That would be fun. Come on UC boys!
