March 20, 2019: Move On

posted in: Bulls | 0

Caught some of the Bulls Wizards game on Wednesday night.  I originally thought it was in Washington, but nope… at the UC again, which meant a return visit for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker.  The Bulls have started doing what I thought they would do, and that’s pull guys for “injuries” down the stretch to preserve the percentages from their current lottery position.  Zach and Otto both did not play in this one, yet… we still won.  I’m fine with it; sick of people bitching about it otherwise.  But in this one, I paid close attention to the ex-Bulls.

They really seemed to play with fire when they see us… a little extra something on the menu.  Too bad they didn’t play like that all the time, maybe they’d still be here.  Well, I guess that’s not entirely fair.  Bobby Portis did play hard; I did like him.  Yet, since his move and the addition of Otto Porter Jr, I could see some light at the end of the tunnel for the Bulls.  You were great while you were here Bobby; definitely appreciate the efforts.  No hard feelings, right?  Well, not sure if Bobby would agree with that.  He sure seems like he’s still hurt about the whole thing.  He still looks like he’s out there trying to prove to the Bulls and the fans that we shouldn’t have traded him.  Seriously?  Move on man.  Like I said, no hard feelings, but if you want to act like that… little extra mustard on your plays, looking towards the bench, mean mugging…  and then slapping the franchise in the face?!?!  Yeah, I get it… it was accidental, sure.  I like the exchange between Kendall and Mark on the postgame.  Kendall said “he was a teammate; there was no intent there”; Mark quickly replied “Well, be careful…”, obviously referencing the whole Niko thing a couple years back.  Like I said, Bobby had to pay for the whole Niko thing a la Godfather… haha.

And then there’s Jabari… He’s out there trying to be MJ; seems like he’s trying to put his best foot forward in front of the hometown crowd, and now his ex-team.  Bravo Jabari… glad to see the efforts, but that statement above, that was really for you.  If you only played like that consistently…  You got skills, no doubt, but the attitude, the inconsistency, especially on defense, the selfishness… yeah, we definitely don’t miss you, and honestly wish you never were able to call the Bulls an ex-team.  But good luck anyways out there in DC… see you in the lottery.

So 2 in a row for the Bulls.  Still 4 games behind Atlanta the 5th worst team in the NBA, and still 2.5 games ahead of the 3rd worst team in Cleveland.  Like I said, the Bulls are pretty much set in that 4th position; may the odds be with us.  Go Bulls!
