It’s the last day of January; that’s 26 days since the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs. Yet with the Super Bowl on the horizon, I’m starting to feel pissed off again…
“Excited for the Super Bowl?” is what my co-worker asked me. I said no, not really. Honestly, I don’t give a shit. Who the hell outside of Boston wants to watch the Patriots in another Super Bowl? Gag me. And the Rams? Those chumps… held their offense without a TD at Soldier Field; their defense giving up 50+ to KC on a MNF game earlier this year. What a bum game. Worst thing about it is, that the Bears should be there. They beat the Rams already in the regular season, and although the Pats did get us earlier this year, we’d have something for old man Brady. If the Rams were originally a pick’em with the Pats, we’d have to be a 3 point favorite at least. I just can’t let it go…

I mean, it wasn’t like we were the Saints getting robbed in the last minute of the NFC Championship game. We lost in Wild Card weekend; we couldn’t even make it out of Wild Card Weekend?!?! Dammit. Glad to see another kicker brought into the fold; still holding out hope for Robbie. Either way, it sure feels like Parkey is gone, and that helps. Still, seeing all the Bears in the Pro Bowl, seeing highlights from the year on Twitter, seeing how well the chemistry is, all the characters on this team, knowing how good our defense was and will be… I just hope this Bears team doesn’t turn into one of those Chicago teams that I loved that never won a championship. We have a handful of those here in Chicago; that’s going to have to be the subject of another blog. But for THIS Bears team, I think I’m going to be pissed, and agitated until football season starts again. I’m not sure I can let this completely go until February 2, 2020 gets here, and we’re getting ready to watch the Bears win the Super Bowl. Until then though, I’m going to remain bitter about the way this season ended. Sorry not sorry.
I guess I’ll have to talk about the Super Bowl a little bit; give it the ol’ ATS breakdown, pick a winner. But honestly, I really don’t care. Commercials? Maybe. Squares? I have a couple. Any other interest in the game itself besides rooting against the Patriots? No. It would have been so awesome had the Bears been playing in the big game. It would have made getting through these last couple sub-zero days a lot easier. The anticipation keeping us warm. But instead, it’s cold inside, just as it is outside. Yes, it was a great year; we had a great record, we beat the Pack, we won the division, we’re back! I grew to love this team a whole heck of a lot. But at the end of the day, there is that emptiness. That feeling of regret, of missing a golden opportunity. Like I said, we’ll have to wait a whole year to fill that void. I guess I can wait. What the hell else am I doing? Until then and always, Bear Down!

This will be the Pats last one. Some kind of scandal will happen, mark my words, they will cheat!

Bears 16-0 next year. Hopefully we get Eagles back next year at Philly.

Definitely an empty feeling with the Bears missing out on an outstanding opportunity to win it all this year. The Bears D would have kept them in any game giving them a shot to win. Damn, that kick sucked. I wish the Bears had a redo but no such thing. Pats and rams super bowl…blah. When will the Bears dynasty begin? Hopefully, this playoff game is the start of a nice string of playoff appearances with a Super Bowl victory or 3 along with them. parkey’s name still makes me cringe, but the anger has subsided. Looking ahead to next season and chalking this year up as the Bears paying their dues. Until next season, keep ya head up and Bear DOWN!!!
