January 20, 2019: The Script

posted in: Bears | 1

Championship Sunday came and went; it was a successful weekend for the NFL… and for Vegas.  Things went pretty much according to the script.  Tell me again that you don’t believe there is any funny stuff going on in these games.

Hey, I don’t have a horse in the race any more; that’s when it’s easiest to see.  I also don’t gamble on games any longer; that impacts the way you watch a game too.  When it’s your team in there, you’re so zoned in, so heavily invested on one side, that you don’t see things.  When you have money on the game, a similar approach comes into play.  Every bad call that goes against you becomes part of the conspiracy theory.  Well, sometimes it just may be.  I didn’t watch the entirety of either game, but I saw the end of both.  I saw the play in the Saints Rams game that is the main subject of this discussion.  Obviously a pass interference… no question about it.  Some people say these type of calls should be reviewable; it makes sense, at least for some types of penalties, but it’s not going to happen.  The more stuff that can be controlled by an outside influence, the more gray area there is, the better.  The Saints got royally screwed in this one, but people will point to other reasons they lost.  There is some truth to that, no doubt, but why did some of that other stuff happen?  Things that make you go hmmm…

Late in the game, Saints had the ball in FG range, first down… run the ball right?  No… pass the ball… and Brees, one of the most accurate passers, throws the ball at this guys feet.  Clock stops.  Next comes a New Orleans timeout on 2nd down?  Then a run that gets stuffed, then the play.  Real time it wasn’t as bad, but on the replay… geez… if that type of call was reviewable, easy reversal, game over, Saints win.  But no way… I’m sure there was way too much money on the Saints to do that…. bury those whistles boys.  But another play earlier in the game made me a little curious too… this time on the Rams side.  When it was 4th and goal from like the 1 yard line… they kicked a short FG instead of going for the lead.  It certainly goes against everything their coach is known for, in one of the biggest moments of the year.  Yeah, on the surface, easy to explain… no brainer really… take the 3, tie the game.  But, I thought for sure they’d go for it.  And how about that game winning FG; yes, a definite sore subject for me.  But that ball would have been good from 70 yards.  I’ve never seen a 50+ yard field goal made by that much… did they switch out the ball or something?  I know he’s got a strong leg, but wow… I know, I sound crazy, but… don’t be surprised.

I mean, look at the other game… the Pats again… the top cheaters themselves, back in the big game.  Throw the whole deflate gate thing in there, with Goodell against the Pats; it’s all a smoke screen.  Those guys are in bed with each other.  The roughing call I saw against Brady… yeah, a joke for sure.  But this one was so scripted, that I heard Romo was calling every play… think about it.  There have been many ex-players, ex-QBs calling games, but for somebody to call so many plays; if they can do it, then the other team can do it.  If both teams know what’s going to happen, then it could be scripted yes?

Yeah, maybe it’s just me still pissed about the Bears not being there; they would have beat either team in the NFC, and would have a great shot against either AFC team.  Nobody was on our level with their defense.  But, Parkey messed up that script…  See you need players who can execute the script too; Brady is the best at that.  Setting up another comeback victory late in the game.  These games both going to OT you got people saying this was the best championship weekend ever.  Yeah, it was a successful weekend for the NFL.  Can’t wait to see the biggest scripted game of the year in 2 weeks; early line has Rams favored by 1 point.  Let me repeat that again… Rams FAVORED by 1 point.  WOW!  Let the Patriots money flow in; Vegas will get their money, and if that’s true, then that’s OK… seeing the Pats lose, but not OK seeing a fake ass fan base get to celebrate.  Oh well… can’t wait to see the script in this one.

The script? Conspiracy theories? No doubt about it, the exist and are true to a certain extent. I mean, a guy gets tackled, speared, targeted, etc, pick a word, and no call? Plain as day to everybody in the world and no flag? Yeah, open up the conspiracy book. You know what to do to with the apologies nfl, stick em where the sun dont shine, and I could care less about either team. The saints got screwed…royally. Yeah, yeah, that one play should not decide the game. Kind if like a missed fg a few weeks ago. Shut it. Some games come down to a play or two. A call there and the saints kneel it down and meet tb12 in the big game. Welcome back pats…please. I hate you. If I didnt like tb12, you could be the most hated franchise ever…so damn lucky. So the pats vs the rams in a super bowl nobody will remember unless it is tb12’s last win. The guy is the nfl goat. I hate both teams. Who will win? Who really cares…the Bears should be there! Until next year, BEAR DOWN!!!
