I knew it wouldn’t be the first game on Saturday; they usually put the worst game of the weekend at that time. I watched most of it; Colts looked good, but will have to go to Kansas City next week. Second game on Saturday was the Seahawks vs Cowboys; we were supposed to be worried about playing the Seahawks? Cowboys don’t impress me either. I’ll have to sit through another game on Sunday before we finally get to the Bears game; the wait really sucks.
The last time we watched the Bears in the playoffs was one of the worst games of all time. We had to sit here with that taste in our mouth for almost 8 years. It’s been even longer since our last Super Bowl appearance; 2007 vs the Colts probably trumps that 2011 loss to the Pack. Yes, and it’s been even longer since our one and only Super Bowl victory; 32 years this year. I guess the wait this weekend isn’t so bad. Obviously, nobody from this Bears roster was around for any of this. I know it’s important to embrace the history of your team; it’s even more important to make your own history. When the Bears finally step on the field on Sunday afternoon, that’s exactly what they will be setting out to do.
I know the 9 NFL titles by the Bears, the 8 NFL Championships plus 1 Super Bowl win, are good for 2nd out of all NFL franchises. That is a rich history, yet there’s not enough recent history. In my lifetime, there have been a lot more bad memories than good ones. I want to start tipping the scales on that one. I believe this team will absolutely do that. Will we see number 10 before it’s all said and done?

According to most “experts”, he is the weakest link on this team; let’s not talk about Parkey OK? Sure, he’s missed a lot of throws this year; he’s made some bad decisions. He’s also done a lot of good things. One of the biggest things for me is his pocket awareness. How many times have we watched him escape pressure and either make a big throw or a big scramble? We all understand the playoffs are a different animal; I’m not that nervous about his game. I’m actually pretty excited to see how he does. Of course it helps to have a world class defense. It will hurt if Eddie Jackson can’t go, but we have enough right? This Eagles OL is no slouch, but give me the Bears front 7 against anybody.
We can’t take anybody for granted; we haven’t done that all year, why do you think that would start now? Nagy has to be coach of the year right? I love this team. I absolutely can’t wait for this game. I just watched the Fog Bowl highlights. Then I went to the 2018 regular season highlights. Then I watched the comeback on MNF against the Cardinals. I’ve been wearing a different Bears t-shirt every day the past week. Ready for jersey time. Let’s goooooo! Bear Down!!!
