December 17, 2018: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

posted in: Bears | 1

You thought we were done discussing the Bears division clinching win?  Heck no.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving.  We’re going to cherish this one for a good long time.  But like Nagy said, we’re not done.

We know the Packers are done, at least for this year.  As long as they have Rodgers, they’ll hang around.  When Nagy and Rodgers met at the 50 yard line after the game, I bet Aaron told him that he wished he could be his coach.  Who will take that job?  Hopefully not Fangio…but who cares right now.  How fun was it seeing Aaron get tossed on his ass multiple times this game?  I like the Mack back sack; can’t say enough about that guy, except the only way people block him is by holding him.  I expect the Bears to send some video footage of this to the NFL in preparation for the playoffs.  Throw the flag boys!  Aaron got sandwiched in another one of Mack’s sacks; hey, could have something there…Mack’s sacks…T-shirt idea!  Although it’s hard not to like Floyd’s last toss the most.  He flung him like a rag doll; that was the season ending image of Rodgers that I will play over and over in my head.  Limping to the sideline, shoulder pad out, defeated.  Ahh, yes, that’s good.  It’s all good actually.

Love the way Trubisky played in this one too.  He protected the ball, yet was confident with his throws.  That’s the magic formula; bottle that up for the postseason.  And his elusiveness…he’s got that internal clock in the pocket, seemingly always escaping the pressure.  That throw to Shaheen after avoiding the untouched Packer blitzer, the scramble for a first down and first down completion on that drive following the tying Packer TD.  That drive was huge.  We didn’t get any points, but to move it down the field after the game was tied;  that’s big time.  That’s the equivalent of having that starting pitcher who can stop a losing streak for the team.  I’m liking Mitch more and more each week.  And let’s please remember, this is his first full year as a starter and his first year with this offense and all his new weapons.  This is going to continue to trend up people.

But, we haven’t won anything yet.  Yes, the division is awesome; beating the Pack is sweet.  Those are the first two boxes that we needed to check.  Now comes the playoff scorecard.  There are still 4 more boxes to check; maybe 3 if the Rams and/or Saints falter.  I look forward to the challenge.  I’ve been waiting for this.  Us Bear fans have been wandering through the desert for almost a decade; we’re thirsty, we’re hungry.  Time to feed the Bears!  Bear Down!!!

Merry Christmas Bears fans! Wow, DA Bears actually won the nfc north division! Still hard to believe based on preseason predictions, but who are we kidding, we knew they would be here…hahaha. Even sweeter to get it done vs the hated pack. I mean, the Bears should have beat them week 1 in lambeau, and they sure did beat them at home in Soldier Field. The discount double douche man looked lost out there, getting his a$$ tossed every way possible…hahaha. Mack is a beast! I will continue saying that each and every week…what a move by Pace and Nagy! Mack’s sacks sounds like something White Castle should ride on with…slider time! MTru bounced back very nicely in this one. I like big white boy, Shaheen, out there, too…seems like a very solid weapon who can use his height and big body to make plays. Yes, step 1 is complete. 2 games remain. The rams are faltering after we shut them down. Is a bye in reach? We shall see. One thing we do know is that DA Bears are back in the playoffs and will have a home game in Soldier Field…cannot wait, been far too long! Hell yes, we’re hungry! Not time to hibernate yet, Bears! FEED US…BEAR DOWN!!!
