I remember dreading primetime Bears game over the recent years; just another opportunity to embarrass ourselves in front of the entire country. Now I cannot wait to see our boys on the big stage again. Sunday night vs the Rams was a showcase for our strength: da defense.
I was talking crap a few weeks back about that Rams Chiefs game; all those points, like a fricking arena football game. I couldn’t wait for the Rams to visit Chicago; they wouldn’t put up those kind of numbers vs our defense. Surely we would contain them. In my game preview, I initially predicted the Bears holding them to 3 TDs; I changed it to 2 by the end of the article. I was feeling pretty confident. I still couldn’t believe what the final result was on this evening…6 points!?!? No TDs?!?! Total domination.
Blame the weather right? I talked about that too. Love the concept of Bear Weather, but certainly feel that it’s overrated. If a team is good, it’s good; if it’s bad, it’s bad. I’m sure it played a factor on this evening though. Living in LA for a handful of years, I remember how it felt coming back to Chicago for the holidays. That cold cut right through you; my body had to adjust. The Rams never adjusted, to both the weather and our hurricane of a defense. Would this game look different had it been played in LA? Sure. Would the end result be the same? I think so. Maybe we’ll get to find out.

How good was the defense in this one? Good enough to overcome a bad performance by Mitchell. I’ll throw him a mulligan on this one. It was his first game back. We all know he’ll have to be a lot better. For this one though, his interceptions just gave the boys that much more motivation out there. Props to Vic too right?
Mack, Hicks, Fuller, Floyd, Eddie, Roquan…they’re becoming household names. And yeah, let’s not forget about Eddie Goldman the way the Rams coach did in his pre game breakdown of the Bears D; he brought home 2 points in this one. I kept thinking that Rams coach should have put on a hat, but didn’t want to mess up his hair. Then I saw Nagy with a visor on? Have to protect that dome; I swear he had a hat on in the first half. Props to Nagy too right? How about that TD play?
I could go on and on. Everybody was pouring out the love after the game. Everybody was bowing down to our defense; damn right. As the game became final, I should have enjoyed it more. I mean, I did really, really enjoy it. I’m so happy Da Bears are back again. But for some reason my mind flashed immediately ahead to our next game… I wonder why. Bear Down!!!
