Feeling pretty, pretty good after Sunday night’s defeat of the Vikings. A couple weeks ago, some were worried about the trap game BEFORE the big matchup with the Vikings. Well, what about the letdown game that will come about 84 hours after they left the field Sunday night? Heading to Detroit to face the Lions for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the whole Lions on Thanksgiving Day thing, and now we may have to play without Trubisky. AND Papa Vegas is only favoring the Bears by 3 points this week? Yeah, I’m worried.
But then I think, why? Why should I worry about this team who traded away their best WR a few weeks back? This team that we absolutely owned in Soldier Field 2 weeks ago. This team that without a few nice catches by Golladay, and some garbage yards and points, would have done absolutely zippo against our D. Why should a change in venue make that much of a difference? Defense travels well. Everybody healthy, and I believe, still hungry on that side of the ball. That should be enough, no?
What about Chase Daniel at QB? How are you feeling about him? I didn’t watch the preseason, but for those who did, I’ve heard some pretty good things about him. In fact, he may even know this offense better than Trubisky, since he was with Nagy in KC a few years back; plus he studied under Brees last year in New Orleans. Yes, he may have only 78 pass attempts in his illustrious 9 year career, but he did complete 65.4% of them! He does also have 1 passing TD. With Trubisky doubtful at this point, it sure looks like Chase will be the man; if Mitch can’t do it, I sure can! I’m OK with the Bears starting him. If he knows the offense, he should be able to manage it successfully enough, and now that Cody is back… certainly should be able to lead this team to some points. Oh yeah, what about the running game? Well, now is as good a time as ever to unleash Howard and Cohen in the backfield together. Even if we don’t run the ball a lot, we can certainly set it up to look like we will, which should help open up some things for Chase down the field. It’ll be interesting, that’s for sure.
I go back to the defense though… no changes there. Yes, Aaron Lynch will be out, but that’s not going to make a huge impact. The defense should be licking its chops to get to Stafford; who wants the turkey leg?

Final Score Prediction: Bears 25 Lions 24
Ace in the Hole: Cody Parkey 3 FGs, including the game winner as time expires
Yeah, what a difference a week makes for Parkey. I’m all aboard this train, especially heading indoors to kick, and needing him more than normal with Trubisky out. The Bears will score another TD on the defensive end, to go along with 1 TD from the offense. The Lions will also score one on the defensive end, and another with a short field. Chase will have his moments, but he will throw a pick or two as well. Bottom line is that I think the Bears will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Winning ugly? Who cares? Just get it done. Or maybe I’m wrong, and the Bears will blow them out; I’d be OK with that too. A win is a win; let’s go to 3-0 in the past 12 days and get a 10 day break. Bear Down!!!

Another after the game prediction, but I liked the Bears in this game, with or without MTru. The Bears are just playing too well right now, especially the D. Yes, aaron lynch was out, but that was not going to change my mind as far as what this D could do. They just shut down the lions in Soldier Field, why would that change in ford field? Chase is familiar with this offense even though he has not started much at all throughout his career. He got his chance and made the most of it. The offense functioned as normal, and he made some throws when he had to. And what do you know, the D sealed it again! 3-0 in 12 days a tough task? Not for our Bears! BEAR DOWN!!!
