This is fun.  I’m having such a good time watching our Bears do their thing.  Who would have thought we’d be sitting here, heading into our Thanksgiving Day game at Detroit?  7-3, first place… even I, Mr. Positive, who thought the Bears would be good this year, didn’t think they’d be this good this quick.  Are we ready for what’s next?

This defense… man.  Akiem Hicks is ridiculous.  We all know about Mack.  I could say the same thing over and over about him, and believe me, I don’t take that for granted for one second; Mack is a game changer.  He did his thing again today.  But for those of us who watched last year’s tragedy unfold for the Bears, we knew about Akiem; we knew what he brought.  Now that everybody around him is better, and we have more pieces, really good pieces, he’s taking off.  His motor is non-stop; what an impressive game from him.  The Vikings should have checked their running game at the door; 5 tackles for a loss by Hicks!  He got that sack, he made that nice play on the screen pass late; bravo Akiem.

And how about Roquan?  Yes, I know he missed that tackle; the defense bailed him out on that.  He got called for a BS pass interference penalty in this one too.  But let me remind you; who was the focus on before Khalil Mack put on a Bears uni?  It was all about Roquan.  Now, with Mack, he is overshadowed if you will; Mack can do that to anybody (see Hicks above).  And for Roquan, that may have been the best thing to happen to him.  He is causing some ruckus under the radar.  I could go on about the defense, right?  Eddie Jackson?  You kidding me; love those group celebrations by the way.  Yes, they pitched a shutout in the first half.  The Vikes did make a little noise in the 2nd half, mostly in the hurry up/no huddle offense.  Wonder if teams will try to employ that earlier in the game against our D; that’s about the only thing that works… and half the reason is because we’re up and playing a base defense.

Take the story out of Detroit. This particular medicine is used cialis online discount to solve the problem. The offense did enough.  This Vikings defense is no slouch.  They are solid.  We came out, grabbed the lead, then held on.  2 picks for Mitch; I didn’t have a big problem with the first one, although technically it was triple teamed, that throw was there if not for a great play by their safety.  The 2nd pick…. ugly; that one is more concerning.  But, Mitch got the job done.  He is one elusive SOB back there.  I love that.  Guy doesn’t sit back there, waiting to get hit and fumble the ball.  He goes through his progressions, if it’s not there, he’s rolling.  Mitch is my QB!

Finally, what about Parkey?  Dude came out and drilled 3 FGs, including the one that iced it.  He didn’t get any extra point opportunities because Nagy chose to go for it each time.  I think the reason behind that is just because he felt confident about grabbing those 2 points; nothing personal Cody.  I like it.  That’s confidence; that’s swagger.  It’s another one that goes into that category of Nagy doesn’t care what the hell you think.  You go Matt.  But Parkey… what a rebound performance.  I guess that practice at Soldier Field earlier this week paid off?  I know people were messing with him about the whole Jesus, God comments last week; hey, more power to him.  But when I saw him making the sign of the cross with the left hand… I just thought it was funny, but… he still drilled that bad boy.  Big time Cody.

The NFL was smart to flex this game.  The Bears are good again, and they want a piece.  We’ll be back on Sunday night again vs the Rams later this year; whose ready for that one?  But first thing is first… can’t let our heads get too big; have to head up to Detroit on a crazy turnaround to play a division game on the road… no guarantees there.  Let’s close out that 3rd win in 12 days, enjoy our place atop the division, and get some turkey.  Bear Down!

Play the 2nd half like you’re behind. Play like you want to win the game. They sometimes seem like they’re playing not to lose once they get the lead. Playing that way gives the other team a chance to gain confidence and get them pumped. You could feel the momentum swing there for awhile. You can’t play that soft down the stretch. Give them a couple first downs and they get the momentum. I do believe we can run the table going out, but Nagy needs to instill the ‘killer’ attitude after we get the lead.

This is awesome! 7-3 after 10 games and 1.5 games up in first place in the nfc central…wow! Too good to be true? Too early for this young Bears team? Too soon for a 1st year coach? Who cares at this point. The Bears are back! MTru’s growth seems accelerated. His leadership and learning of Nagy’s offense has been great. Yes, they did enough to get the W vs the vikes. Can they do more? For sure. Step on their throat when they’re down and bury them when the chance is there. Hopefully, that will come with time. But you know who else is back? The Monsters of the Midway! This Bears D is great and so fun to watch! What more can you say about Mack? The guy has been amazing since being a Bear. What a pickup and signing! Hicks, aka Donut, has been outstanding again this year. He gobbles up anything near him. Roquan has come on strong these last 3 games. Yes, he missed that one tackle, but he has been flying around the field. With DannyT at the other lb spot, speed is in the Bears favor. EJack manning the middle of the field, with the rest of the db’s playing solid, this Bears D is one to be reckoned with…turnovers and playmaking every week. They give up late yards and points…can you say garbage time? The games are already being decided, and they drop into base coverage. I don’t like it, but I can’t argue with it as long as the W is there. These D players are doing their jobs, but Vic is putting them in the right places to do so. He deserves a ton of credit, and so does Pace and Nagy for keeping him around. And what do you know, Parkey did his job…real easy, buddy! Now, the lions are next after they got a big win vs the panthers. Short week, 3rd game in 12 days, turkey time, ass kicking time continues…BEAR DOWN!!!
