October 23, 2018: Tank Part 2

Oh yeah, the Bulls season began.  No, I didn’t forget about the Bulls.  Yes, I’ve been watching a little bit of the games… pretty painful.  It’s going to be a long year.  Let the Tank Part 2 begin.

We knew the season opener would be ugly.  A road visit to Philadelphia is never fun, especially now that the Sixers are pretty decent.  I was working that night, so thankfully I missed the whole game.  Any time Cameron Payne is getting serious tick is a good time to miss the game.  The best thing about that trip to Philly was the clip I saw on Twitter of the Bulls getting off the bus.  Some guy out there with no shirt, begging for money starting yelling at them.  “Hey C-Suckers… you make all the money… throw me a $20 bill… Mother F-ers… you ain’t no Michael Jordan”  Truer words have never been spoken.  That was the only game highlight I needed to see; how many times could I watch the clip of Jabari Parker standing there watching the Sixers get the rebound?  Have to love Philly… actually, I’ve never been there.  Need to get there soon, and shake this guy’s hand… haha.

I tuned into some of the home opener vs the Pistons.  28 more minutes of Cam Payne; just shoot me.  I think Arcidiacono (no way I knew how to spell that on my own) should be playing in front of him.  Anyways, a late driving bucket with little defense gave the Pistons the win.  When I saw the over-under win total for the Bulls this year, I thought “easy money”.  Yeah, well, we know how that goes with Vegas.  Anything that looks too good to be true is probably not going to happen.  But let’s just get Kris Dunn back from paternity leave, and we’ll get this thing rolling.

As for Dunn, he’s done… 4-6 weeks that is.  Let me hear you if you’re ready for some more Cam Payne!!!  Bad enough Lauri was out for the start of the season; to a lesser degree with Valentine on the shelf.  Now we have to be without Dunn; again, not saying he is one of those guys, but he is our best PG by a long shot.  With these early injury developments, what I thought would be a year where the Bulls could win 30 plus games, is quickly turning into the very likely potential for The Tank:  Part 2.

Last year sucked for that reason.  Watching the Bulls try to lose; that was brutal.  Now, we may have to go through this again?  I wanted to see steps this year.  I wanted to get some questions answered about some of the players… maybe see the makings of a plan going forward.  Maybe we’ll still see some of that, but at the end of the day, it may be about getting the highest draft pick possible… again.  Yeah, I know there’s talent coming out, but really… 79 games to go in the season and we’re already mailing it in?  Maybe I’m just reading too much crap.  Go Bulls!
