October 11, 2018: Slippin Jimmy

posted in: Bulls | 0

Do you still miss Jimmy Butler?  Twitter was going bananas yesterday after Butler came into Timberwolves practice for the first time since demanding to be traded and went bonkers.  Yelling at teammates, coaches, front office… taking the 3rd string and beating the 1st stringers.  Then, he sits down and does an interview with ESPN soon after… and none of this was setup right?  Yep, he’s become a regular old Slippin Jimmy.

OK, quick reference check for those who need it.  Slippin Jimmy is from Better Call Saul.  He’s a con man, always running some sort of scam to get over/ahead.  Good heart?  Sure.  But is always tempted with a better, easier way to get ahead, not necessarily keeping it street legal.  Is this what the good hearted, hard working kid from Texas has become?

I’m starting to think it’s all a setup.  Think about it.  How much of today’s NBA is orchestrated?  You have guys talking with each other, setting up “super teams”.  Teams are not built naturally for the most part.  It’s all pre-designed.  How many of us would have put good money on Lebron going to the Lakers at the beginning of LAST year?  The NBA is not quite the WWE, but we are certainly seeing a shift.  Enter Jimmy Butler… whose best friend is an actor; taking tips from him lately?  It just doesn’t add up.

You say you’re concerned about winning, yet demand trades to shit teams who can afford your max deal.  You say you want guys to play harder on the Wolves, and be fairly compensated by this Wolves… nothing wrong with that, except the fact that you just demanded a trade from this team?  Come on man.

The leading cause of over purchase levitra activeness in sympathetic system also includes the other ill health across the spectrum apart from increase in hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol. It doesn’t add up because of his relationship and respect for Thibs.  Maybe that’s fallen apart?  Did Buckets get tired of Thibs ways overnight?  Did he want no part in this reassembling of the Timber Bulls?  Kind of hard to believe that.  Thibs and Buckets were a perfect match; they were great together.  Thibs tough minded coach with the perfect hard nosed both ends of the court hustling player.  That’s all gone now?

Yes, maybe Slippin Jimmy is trying to pull off an Oscar winning performance.  Maybe all this is an “act”… I’d like to believe that vs believing he’s completely lost it and/or turned into one of those divas that I can’t stand.  Maybe Butler will ride out this last year with the Wolves, and by doing this, is trying to fire up the team to make a serious run.  It’s an aggressive gambit no doubt, but with Butler and Thibs hand in hand, maybe they can pull it off.  I mean, what do they have to lose?  They may both be gone after this year.  At the very least, I hope he’s still on the Wolves when they play the Bulls on December 26th in Chicago; I already have our tickets to see the Bulls vs the ex-Bulls.  I was hoping the Wolves made a run this year…

I’ll tell you what… it does make for some interesting stuff.  I’m loving seeing all of this play out, especially because it involves so many of the guys I loved on the Bulls… a lot more interesting than the current Bulls right now, let me tell you, although Jabari may be trying to take a shot at some drama making.

Yes, wherever you sit on this, whatever you think of Jimmy’s antics, the bottom line is that the Bulls have not had a player like Jimmy on the floor since he left.  We had 1 of those 2-3 stars you need to win a championship and now we have 0, hoping that 1 of the guys on our roster turns into 1.  Good luck to us all.  Go Bulls… and ex-Bulls!

I tend to lean on all of it being an act to light a fire under the tpups who just don’t work as hard as him. I mean, Thibs demands that hard work and tough defensive style of basketball. That is why him and Buckets got along so well. So I find it hard to believe that their relationship took a bad turn. I fell it is a performance to try to get the most out of the young, talented tpups, KAT and Wiggins. I agree that a lot of the nba is now just entertainment and not really just a basketball game. It is similar to the WWE in that regard. I would love to see Thibs and Buckets make noise with the rest of the tpups. Who wants to see gsw or laqueen’s lala dominate the headlines? They are going to anyway, but at least if the tpups could come together and take a shot. The Bulls are pretty much written off again this year. Not sure I agree but who knows. Playoffs should be the goal. If not, everybody should be gone, from the top to the bottom. Nothing but drama in the nba from the superstar divas.
