This is the only way to settle it. After 162 games, the NL Central division is still not decided. Cubs Brewers at Wrigley Monday to decide the division winner.
I remember how the season started, kicking the Brewers ass; I remember how it ended, with the Brewers owning us. We still won the season series, so Wrigley it is. It’s appropriate, not only because of the season series, but we’re the defending division champs. To take that crown, you must beat us heads up, one game, winner takes all, at our place. No more playing the Detroit Tigers.
Although that’s not really fair. The Brewers have been beating pretty much everybody down the stretch. The Cubs haven’t been playing bad; the Brewers have just been playing a little better. The Cubs never did extend that lead like I thought they would. The Brewers kept pressing, and pressing, and when the Cubs faltered on Saturday, they finally caught us. All that stuff is over now.
The second season starts Monday. Yes, it’s felt like playoff games the last week, but they haven’t been playoff games; technically this one isn’t either. But it is do or die, for the division that is. The nice thing about this game is that the consolation prize is the wild card game, although nobody wants to play in that true do or die game. But at this point, it’s whatever it takes.
And in this scenario, who do you trust? The Cubs or Brewers? Yeah, I’m biased, but it’s the Cubs by a landslide right? Give me the team who has been to the NLCS the last three years; the team who broke the longest drought in professional sports history. The Brewers have a drought of their own to contend with. No World Series titles…ever. Does this team have what it takes? Do you trust them over an experienced Cubs team?

I’m not trading places with any team. I’m thrilled with this Cubs team, essentially the same team that’s done all those things I mentioned. This Cubs team has brought a confidence like no other. The mind set has changed from what’s going to go wrong to how will the Cubs win this. I still believe. I have no reason not to.
Of course there are reasons not to, like Cain and Yelich, like the boom or bust offense, like the seemingly faltering bullpen. But then you have the starters, our big 3, and the been there done that experience. I do see that the Brewers have that mojo; I saw that early in the year. They have that knack for winning close games too. Will it be enough to get them past the Cubs? After all, if not in this 163rd game, it could very likely be in the NLDS. These teams were destined to meet again this year; it’s what we all should have wanted.
Nobody is going to back down from this challenge; the moment isn’t too big on this side. We’ve been waiting for this. We’ve been waiting for the big game. This is where the Cubs play their best.
I can’t wait for the game. Q going against the Brew has me feeling pretty good. Meanwhile, the Brewers can’t decide on their starter. Whoever it is will be in store for some kind of ABs coming from this offense that finally looks to go boom. See you at high noon. Go Cubs!

And here we go. 162 games and tied with the brewcrew at the top of the nl central. Who would have thought it? Not me. I thought this Cubs team would pull away and take the crown…again. It did not happen. The brew have been playing good baseball all year and never faltered. Give them credit. They deserve to be here. But the Cubs are the defending nl central champs, and I don’t believe they are ready to give that up. So it comes down to a 163rd game to decide it. Funny thing is, so does the nl west as the dodgers play the rocks after the Cubs game. Pretty crazy! Either way, win or lose, the Cubs will play at least 1 more game. I would much rather win and have an entire series to look forward to than a do or die game to decide it. The Cubs are battle tested. The brew want what the Cubs have. Bring it…to the shrine known as Wrigley Field. The game starts at high noon. I’m ready. The Cubs will be, too! GO CUBS GO!!!
