Over the past couple weeks, there have been some players that have gotten into hot water over some things they wrote on Twitter some years back. I have some thoughts…
First of all, how stupid do you have to be to put these type of things in writing? Maybe you were a nobody back then, and figured you could say whatever the hell you wanted. Maybe there’s a ton of ugly stuff out there written by folks, but… now that you’ve “made it”, the spotlight is on. As part of this “making it” process, wouldn’t you go back and clean up any BS that you could from your past? It’s no different for other people as well, not only athletes. If you’re in the business of writing emails, using some sort of instant messenger app, or any field that you have to put things in writing, you need to be conscious of what you are putting down in words. There are things that may be judgment calls, but… if your opinion about a certain topic is UGLY, then keep that shit to yourself; do not let it be written.
And about those ugly things that were said… the easy assumption to make is that everybody has said or done ugly things in the past. Maybe, maybe not. Of course no single person is perfect, and everybody makes mistakes; those things are both true. But what exactly each and every one of us has done or said in the past, only each individual knows that. I know I have said and done things in the past that I am not proud of.
The hope is we learn from our mistakes. We learn that actions and words can be very hurtful, and should think before we act, think before we speak. It’s easy to make fun of people for their differences. Anybody that doesn’t look the same as you, has different beliefs than you, are the easy targets. Regardless of how you were raised, through the maturing process, we hopefully learn that this is not cool. I have learned a lot through my experiences.
The dose advantage involves getting absorbed on a rapid source by the body and providing effective moments cialis online for a long period of time can cause one to experience sexual level erection that can guide one to a enhanced level of erection. That’s doesn’t mean I’m perfect now though. It still does not mean I will not say or do the wrong thing. It does not mean that my actions or words will never hurt anybody ever again. The best thing I can hope for is that I can minimize these occurrences, and try not to make the same mistake twice. So do these guys deserve second chances? Sure. Maybe they are a completely different person now… maybe they’re not. Only time will tell.
Now do these folks deserve standing ovations, like the Brewers gave Hader? What about Aroldis Chapman, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, Big Ben… just some other notable folks that have made mistakes in the past… some worse than others. We certainly shouldn’t applaud bad behavior. We can certainly choose to give an individual a second chance, whatever the case may be… well, most cases.
I guess the best advice is to look in the mirror. It’s easy to judge others; something else we’re all experts at. Maybe if we all took a critical look at ourselves… that would be the best starting point. Then after we decide we’re perfect, then we can get back to judging…

Yep, you have to be pretty stupid and/or naïve to put bad stuff in print, especially nowadays. I mean, any message put on facebook, instagram, twitter, and any other social media platform can be seen, saved, screenshot, and any other method to save. So why would you do that? And if you have in the past, go back and delete stuff, especially if you are in the public eye now. Seems pretty simple to me. Obviously, not saying it in the first place is the best thing. On the other hand, what is the point in crucifying these guys who said dumb stuff when they were teens and 5-10 years has gone by. We have all done it. Yes, they were dumb enough to put it out to the world, but still. I’m sure they are sorry about it or have changed. Maybe they aren’t but they will sure say they are to sweep it back under the rug. The social media world changes everything and definitely not all for the good. I can’t stand it! Just keep things to yourself…nothing on social media…ever! Save yourselves a lot of trouble.
