Let’s forget about last week. Let’s get that one out of our system ASAP. We’ll have another chance against those cheese boys. Sitting at 2-2, we need to take care of business going forward… starting with this week.
Is there any reason why the Bears shouldn’t win this game? I think I could have said the same thing about Week 1 vs Buffalo, and look what happened. We are going back on the road this week, where we are undefeated! Can we make it 3-0? I like our chances.
Papa Vegas set the line at Carolina -2.5 for this one. I’m not sure which way is the smart bet, but I love the Bears here… and maybe that’s bad. Carolina has only one healthy RB that is worth anything, only one WR that is worth anything, a banged up QB, and is coming off an ass kicking at the hands of Steve Smith and the Baltimore Ravens. He then proceeded to call them a bunch of kids running around on the playground… or something like that. I have to think the Panthers will be pretty pissed off this Sunday. This is what we’re walking into… but… we should be pissed off too. Heck, to have our heads kicked in by Green Bay again, the same team who ended our season the last 2 years. We should be mad enough to wipe the Panthers off the field this Sunday. Should be…
Offensively, there should be no reason why we can’t put up some points on this defense. They were supposed to be good, but they haven’t been. Cutler has been great in the 2 road games this year. Can he get through a 3rd road game with no INTs? On my road to believing Cutler will lead us to the promised land one day, winning games on the road is an important step. This is a step which he’s done well this season so far. Is three times a charm? Does Jay turn into a pumpkin Sunday, or does he step up on the road again?
Defensively… well, I talked about the Carolina offense above. I’m really only worried about one player. You know, that one player that comes back and haunts his old team. You know, that player that we should have never let go. Cover Greg Olsen on Sunday boys… please. Don’t let him be the guy that beats us. I’m looking forward to seeing Fuller on Benjamin…. rookie on rookie. That should be an entertaining matchup to watch. It would help to get a little pressure on the QB too.
Special teams continues to be a non-factor. I did finally see the highlight of that onside kick attempt… we should have had that. I don’t mind the attempt, especially since we couldn’t stop them. Still nothing in the return game, while Hester runs wild in Atlanta…Ok, ok… I’ll let it go.. until we play them. Don’t let special teams be a factor. If we keep it between the offensive and defensive units, there should be no contest.

Final Score Prediction: Bears 34 Panthers 19
A note about my preseason picks and the outcomes so far… I’ve been 0-4. I did pick the Bears to be 2-2 at this point, but I was on the opposite side of every win and loss this year. If the Bears lose this game, I will be going opposite of my preseason predictions from here on out to ensure Bear victories!
Ace in the Hole–> Martellus Bennett 100 yards receiving & 2 TDs
In the battle of tight ends, I’m rolling with the NFC pro bowler so far, and yes, that’s Bennett. Will it last? I’m not sure, with all of our “weapons”, but so far, he has emerged as one of the most dangerous.
Keep those final score and ace in the hole picks coming, and BEAR DOWN!!!

Ace in hole: Bears Defense
Key to the game: All defense all day. With no RB and a true ace WR on the Pathers, defense should stand strong. Must win. we don’t win, doesn’t look good the rest of the way.
