Back to it… so many things have happened… so many blogs in the chamber… let’s try to get a couple things off my chest. This is the first.
Let’s start off with the new Cubs lead-off man… the guy who I’ve been waiting to be put in that position since the start of last year. Sure, I was fine with the Schwarber experiment, the funny Rizzo stint, and everybody else that was put in that place in the order all year long. After all, we were coming off a World Series victory… yes, it happened, remember? So, trust in Joe was in full effect.
As this year started, we saw Happ put in that spot; I wasn’t mad at that. When he hit that home run on the first pitch of the season, things couldn’t have started off better. Strikeout after strikeout proceeded that fabulous start; if felt like, here we go again. But then we gave this guy a chance.
Albert Almora has been great in the lead off role. He was brought along slowly last year, only hitting against lefties, racking up some impressive numbers. Why not let him hit against righties? It’s not like the lefty lefty thing. Anyways, with the Cubs depth, we could afford to do that. So Albert was patient… but now, he’s got his chance, and he’s making the most of it.
It has the same dynamic solution and formula as the brand name medication and acts as adequately as Pfizer’s canada from generic viagra . Impotence or erectile dysfunction can be faced once in a while, buy viagra for cheap or more often. Regular reasons for low charisma and poor erectile capacity incorporate poor blood flow to and into the penis, low levels of testosterone, low body vitality and anxiety; not just do they these issues influences sexual wellbeing , they can not cause harm to best levitra prices you. For the rest, the question must be viagra cost asked, what deeper dangers are the drugs merely masking and at what expense to their whole health picture? (The drug information in this article is no different when it comes to these two things. The guy can rake. I remember when the Cubs drafted him, and the stories of his dad building a batting cage in his backyard growing up. He has some pop, but don’t think we’re talking 20 home runs here. But that’s fine… for a leadoff hitter. I know there is no prototypical any more, but a 300 batting avg and a decent OBP will be plenty out of that position. Oh yeah, and there’s more.
The guy is an awesome base runner. I know we all remember how he made that first impression on us in a certain 10th inning in a certain Game 7 a couple years back. He’s not the fastest guy, but he’s smart on the base paths. That is an important factor in a lead off man.
Something else, that was on full display in the Colorado series, is his glove. With him patrolling center field, hits will be hard to come by. His glove should keep him in the lineup, period. I would say he’s not as good as Heyward on the field, but… have you seen Heyward this year out there? He’s looked less than gold thus far… maybe silver? But Albert… start putting his highlight reel together now for that gold glove nomination. If not this year, some year in my opinion.
So there you go. Since Fowler left to play with the ugly birds, the leadoff position has been an outstanding issue. Well, problem solved. I know… Joe is Joe, and he will switch things around, but… we got a good thing going here. Not since Dex, have we had a guy that can be in the 1 spot and stay there. Welcome Albert Almora. Go Cubs!

I am fine with Joe tinkering with the leadoff spot ever since Dex left. With him, there was no question, nothing to worry about. When he went, the Cubs went. Now, Joe is still trying to find a guy. I have to agree, Almora seems to be a good fit. He is probably not the ideal leadoff man, but how many of those are still in baseball now? Times are changing. Speed is not as important. Handling the bat and getting on base is. Almora can do both, plus he has some pop. Not to mention his outstanding defense in center field. Man, he has made close to 10 great plays already this year…1 month in. So let Almora play and leadoff more…see where that goes. Hopefully, the Cubs will follow AA! GO CUBS GO!!!
