This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about this. The tank fest that is going on with the Chicago Bulls, and how it just doesn’t feel right. So the NBA felt the same way, and rightfully called the Bulls out on it. But you know what else doesn’t feel right? The fact that no other teams are being called out.
Yes, Mark Cuban and the Mavs were fined because he ran his mouth. Thing is, he was only telling the truth. Everyone else is following that script, but trying to “tank fairly”. What exactly is tanking fairly? That is bullcrap and everyone knows it, regardless of what is said about it. It’s good that they fined the Mavs and called out the Bulls; now what about everybody else?
There needs to be some sort of penalty. I don’t know what that would be, and how it could be used, but when teams are not playing guys either with a coaches decision or some phantom injury, that’s a problem. It’s different than resting guys for the playoffs; I don’t like that either, but it’s better to rest with winning in mind vs losing. Although, one could make the argument that’s what these bottom dwelling teams are doing by tanking…trying to get that high draft pick to win as soon as possible.
Winning should be the number one objective for EVERY team EVERY year, period. Anything less than that sucks. If there are teams that are NOT following that, then they should be punished. Still trying to figure out what that would be… fines maybe… lose some of their CAP space… but how would it be determined?

Hard water is created when ions such as magnesium, calcium, and iron are picked up by spam filters? levitra for sale linked here The first step is to not sound obvious. There are easy examples of it, but then there are teams that just flat out stink. That no matter who they play on their roster or how hard they play, they can’t win. There are some teams that are in that category; the Bulls are NOT.
The Bulls have talent to win ball games. Yes, it’s middle of the road type talent, that will result in us finishing on the brink of the playoffs AKA basketball hell, but there is some talent here. And that’s why the NBA has to do something. Because a team like the Bulls, if they were to be playing hard each night, and that results in a 9th place finish in the East, they’d suffer… they’d suffer a worse fate than a similarly talented team that decides to lose every game, because finishing 9th is worse than finishing 12th when it comes to draft order. The NBA needs to punish the tankers and reward the teams that are playing to win.
That sounds like a decision to be made above my pay grade… because if you reward higher picks to teams finishing higher… OK, well, let me give it a shot. How about the first round pick goes to the team first out of the playoffs… or at least they get the most lottery balls. Yes, that would suck for the last place team, but it should motivate you to play harder. How much difference is there between the 9th seed and last seed in each conference? Help out the teams that are at least trying to win, and are just not good enough yet… I bet these “bad” teams would be winning a lot more games.
So there it is… 9th seed in each conference gets the most lottery balls, and it goes on from there down the list for those top lottery picks. Could it work? Anything is better than rewarding purposely losing…

Calling out the Bulls and fining a billionaire is like a slap on the hand…it stings for a second and then it’s gone. The nba needs to figure out what to do with teams that tank, especially so damn obviously. I mean, there are a handful of teams that have a legitimate shot at winning the title, and that is probably after GSW in line. 20+ teams have no shot of winning the title even if they make the playoffs…let’s be honest. So how do you prevent tanking? Not sure. I don’t think there is an easy answer here. Maybe a combination of something? Rewards and punishments? Mr. Silver better get his thinking cap on because the nba tanking is out of control and does not look good. The Bulls do look good from time to time…no way should they be competing for worst record in the league. They are better than tanking teams but worse than playoff teams. I consider that basketball hell, and the Bulls need to get out of it. GO BULLS!!!
