Week 3 brought some pain and pleasure. My fantasy picks were a combination of both.
First off, I think 9 picks is too much, although it did allow me more chances to win, and I cashed in… kind of. The whole head vs heart debate is a losing one for me. We’re going to assume that my heart is in each pick I make, which would be a good assumption. Let’s take a peek back…
I was 2 for 2 at my QB predictions. Kirk Cousins outpointed Nick Foles, and Ryan Tannehill, yes, Ryan Tannehill outpointed Aaron Rodgers. Let’s start with the pleasure of Rodgers having a bad week. It lead to a Packers loss, which is always a good thing. He was also the starting QB of the team I was playing against in Fantasy; I’m not sure Rodgers will ever score that low again. Moving on to the pain… Yes, I correctly predicted Cousins to have a big week, and yes, I STILL left him on my bench in Fantasy. I was going to start him over my other QB Jay Cutler before I traded him and acquired the QB I started this week, Tom Brady. But Tom Brady against the Raiders in Foxboro… I couldn’t pass up, and Cousins made me look silly. So I was right and wrong at the same time; that my friend is life. More on my controversial fantasy trade later…
Back to the results, and they were not good at the skill positions. At RB, DeMarco made me pay again, as he turned in the 6th best week by a RB… many more points than Knile Davis. Matt Forte was bottled up against the Jets. I needed him to be the best RB of the week to get a Fantasy W after the QB gaffe mentioned above, and he couldn’t do it for me. I was absolutely crushed by Antonio Brown again, as he put up monster numbers over Reggie Wayne’s pedestrian output. I almost predicted another miracle with Golden Tate over any GB WRs, but fell 0.7 points short. Damn!

Here it comes: it is available in the form of a pill? Half of the time consumed, in a typical levitra mastercard , is spent talking about the side-effects of taking the drug. On to some more pain and pleasure at the TE position. I correctly predicted Jermaine Gresham over Vernon Davis. His 1 catch for 5 yards were more than VD… because he didn’t play!!! Hey, I didn’t know that when I was making these picks, so I’m taking the W….. haha… much pleasure. More pleasure came in my correct prediction of PItta over Gates. The pain comes in when Pitta dislocated his right hip and is done for the year. The reason that is painful to me, is because now I have to find a new Fantasy TE.
The wild card pick fell flat as Marshawn had a big week, while Andre Johnson turned in a modest effort against the G Men. So all in all, 4-5 with my picks this week, which brings me to 8-14. So 8 correct picks in 22 total games; 8/22… good date.
I want to look back on one specific game last week, and that’s Atlanta vs Tampa Bay, because of the obvious Chicago connections. Besides the fact that Julio Jones had a big game for me, I want to congratulate Devin Hester. He broke Primetime’s return TD record with his 20th career return TD. By the way, he also scored another TD that game on a reverse. Wow… getting him the ball in space on offense led to points. My pleasure in all of this is he did this against Lovie Smith, because he sure couldn’t figure out how to use him on offense during his tenure here. The pain of course comes in because we see him break the record in another uniform. That just burns me. He should have done it here, where his other 19 were. It’s no wonder why Hester said he wasn’t happy here the last few years. Yes, he lost a step, and yes, he wasn’t the best WR, but we could have done better with him. It’s amazing he wasn’t better playing with a QB who makes everyone better…cough-cough. He was just another scapegoat on the “let’s blame everybody else but Cutler” run. I’m happy for him… now I’m just hoping he doesn’t make us pay when we see him later this year. I’m sure the coaching staff will draw something special up for him in that game. Something we couldn’t figure out…
We’re just settling in here, only 3 weeks in. It’s still so early, but it still seems like this season is flying by already. Here in Chicago, we’ve already had our mix of pain and pleasure. Monday night’s victory was some more pleasure. Here’s hoping for more pleasure than pain from here on out… long way to go baby, long way to go…
