I saw some good news… then some bad news. I thought we had traded Niko Mirotic for essentially a first round pick from the Pelicans. I was so happy. Then the deal fell through; don’t tell me GarPax is going to screw this up.
Whatever happened in this initial deal, don’t stop trying! We need to move Niko ASAP, and they were so smart to NOT play him in Portland on Wednesday night. DO NOT PLAY HIM AGAIN! We don’t need him to get hurt before moving his ass. As long as we’re getting back a first round pick, pull that trigger!
I was happy with that pick from the Pelicans. With Demarcus Cousins out (I’m shedding a tear), the Pelicans will be trending downwards the rest of the season, which would be very good for that first round pick. If they think acquiring Niko will help them, then more power to them. Let’s be honest. We have seen the best we will see from Niko.

There is value there, no doubt, but… something else that we shouldn’t overlook is the fact that he does not want to be here. He was playing his butt off in the hopes of getting moved to a good team, and being in a better situation in his mind… one without Bobby Portis. I know they mended the fences supposedly, and played on the court together, but you could see Niko was doing this all for him. We loved him while he was doing it, providing many exciting moments for this Bulls rebuild, but that’s over now… and Niko is NOT part of the future of this team…. and if we can get a first round pick for him, do it ASAP.
Maybe I’m wrong… maybe Niko could be on this team long term. Maybe he could be the 6th man of the year every year for us, with that hot shooting touch coming off the bench. He’s not starting OK. Markkanen and Levine will be… and hopefully whoever we draft this year will be the 5th starter with Kris Dunn and… RoLo??? I thought we were moving him too. He is under a team friendly deal… and Felicio has been a total waste of space this year. Unless we draft a big man? RoLo isn’t spectacular, but he is solid, and definitely seems to be a good influence in the locker room with these young guys; there is definitely value there. Plus, if we can’t get anything of real value back for him… unless we package him with Holliday or Payne (haha).
Back to Niko… I’m hoping to read very soon that he is gone. He’s had his flashes and we thank him for it… It’s time for Niko to take his talents elsewhere. Don’t F it up GarPax. Good Bye Niko. Go Bulls.

Niko can take his talents back to Europe for all I care. The guy is playing above his head, thankfully, so now it is time for the Bulls to pull the trigger. Niko has created enough value that there is interest in his weak ass. Get rid of him immediately. The guy can put the ball in the basket occasionally, but he is a black hole, which is not needed on a rebuilding team with young guys. Garpax better get this deal done somehow. I though rolo was going, too. Maybe his presence is too much of a good thing for the young guys. Payne can be given away to a local goodwill for some tax credit…hahaha. Bulls have moves to be made…make it happen! GO BULLS!!!
