Happy Holidays! There’s no better way to celebrate the holidays then celebrating misery. Finding joy in somebody’s else’s misery is just my thing. I don’t want anything else for Christmas… of course, I kid…
But there was that feeling after the Monday Night Football game completed this week. I had heard something about it, but wasn’t exactly sure… I was hoping it was true. And then after the game, the tweets started coming in: the Packers were officially eliminated from the playoffs. It was like snow on Christmas… a warm fuzzy feeling filled my body.
The flip side of that is all Packers’ fans misery. Many, many people living just north of me were probably devastated. They just knew now that Rodgers was back, they were going to run the table and make the playoffs. Um, no. Not going to happen. And now they can join us Bears fans on our couches watching the playoffs; that’s if you even watch the playoffs after your team has been eliminated.
So the fact that I was happy that the Packers were out of the playoffs while others were crushed, means I was celebrating misery. It doesn’t sound nice at all; I’m not proud of it. I try not to be a hater like that, but in this case, it’s unavoidable. Come on… it’s the team that I hate the most… and my team has sucked for a while… let me enjoy my moment without making me feel guilty.

With the Packers out, it can’t be a horrible NFL year, but it can still get better, and I’m not talking about the Bears winning it all, because that would trump it all. I’m talking about the remaining teams. We definitely do NOT want to see the Pats win; can we all agree we’ve seen enough of those damn guys? Unless you’re from Boston, who the hell else would root for that team? Their elimination will be the next happy part of this season.
While we’re at it, let’s eliminate the Steelers too. If there is one team, even more than the Patriots, that seem like they have the fix on their side more than any other team, it’s the boys from Pittsburgh. This whole catch, no catch thing this past week that featured these two teams; who cares? They both deserved to get screwed, multiple times. How many times have the Steelers got the calls going their way? Too many to count; it’s sickening. Screw them and the Pats!
Looking at the other playoff participants, I’m not really worried about it; any of them can win. The only other thing left is to see Dallas get officially eliminated, because we all know they suck. Oh yeah, one more team… the Seahawks. I’m not asking for much am I?
In each case, I’d be celebrating misery… and that’s OK… in this case. I’m fine with it. If you’re not, get over it. Merry Christmas!

Welcome to the world of playoff watching cheese turds. How many of the garbage faithful thought discount double check douche was going to lead them to the promised land with his return? HAHAHA…how’s 3 picks for you? See, if he can do it, so can MTru! Now, he gets shutdown for the remainder of the season after he failed miserably in his return. Ahhh, such a nice gift! As far as the rest of the nfc, it seems to be up for grabs. I would like to see the cowgirls, chawks, and lions not make it, though. As for the afc, I think it might be the steelers year. It looks almost certain to be a pats/steelers afc championship again. Tired of both teams, too, but not sure who could beat them? Would love to see the jags do it, though…how cool would that be? Not as cool as that wisky gaaabage team not making the playoffs! Wear that gear proud Bears fans! BEAR DOWN!!!
