The fat lady is singing. Another fantasy football season has come and gone without a championship. This sucks.
It wasn’t really close. AJ Green made it close in my matchup; but of course I was playing only 1 of the 2 teams in our entire league that would have beat me this week. It wouldn’t have mattered anyways, as the 2 teams I needed to lose both won. I ended up with the 2nd most total points in our league, which gets me 0$. I ended up with the most points scored against in our league, which gets me 0$. At 5-8, I finished in 9th place out of 12 teams. I firmly believe I got screwed this year.
Only the most points in the league gets something; I finished about 50 points short of that. The next closest team was 22 points behind me. I felt like I had a really good team this year, but the one guy that really screwed me was Matt Ryan. It’s safe to say that I will never be drafting him again. The guy was a bum, including a 17 point performance last week. The switch to a new OC really killed him this year; I guess I should have been smarter.
There were more than 2000 points scored against me in my matchups this year. The next closest team gave up 1878… 150 point difference. That’s why I say I got screwed. It was just a matter of bad matchups, always playing against a team that was having a good week. Other guys in the league bitch about that, but facts are facts. This proves clearly to me that I was the recipient of very bad luck.

But this is my fantasy football life. The worst of it was years back in the championship game where Romo got hurt after 1 series; never again had him on my team. Ryan now joins him. There was one good thing that happened. The recent champ ended up tanking after the Rodgers injury, and fell from 1st place to missing the playoffs by 1.7 points. That makes me smile. As for the playoff teams, I’m not rooting for any one of them; they all suck and hope they all lose!
So this will be the last fantasy football article of the year; I know, I know… you’re devastated. You got your damn wish! Maybe I need to change my fantasy football team name next year; the Chicago Blitz just ain’t doing it. Maybe I should change it to Crash and Burn; that’s a lot more fitting. Screw Fantasy Football!!!

Bear Down joined Chicago Blitz on the outside looking in at the rest of the playoff teams. My strategy of drafting stud receivers did not pan out. There is always next year. Pretty crazy how much discount double check screwed his fantasy owner, and to lose out on the last spot by 1.7 points? Ouch…talk about a donkey kick to the balls! Oh well, seems as though the league was full of parity this year with nobody running away with it. Should be an interesting playoffs. Goodluck to those still in it!
