So I said I wasn’t going to watch any more baseball, yet there I sit, on Saturday night, watching the Astros Yankees Game 7. I was very happy with the result.
Because the Astros won, maybe I will tune into the Series… only if the Dodgers are losing. That’s how I am with teams that I dislike. I’ll only tune in to watch them if they are losing. Like the Cavs in basketball or the Packers in football, I’ll only watch them play if they are losing or about to lose the game. I think that’s why I tuned in Saturday night. I saw on my phone that the Yankees were down 4-0; I was hoping to see Houston win, so I tuned in. It’s not that I hate the Yankees that much…
I like Girardi, and was hoping they did well for Starlin. Chapman is there too… yet, I couldn’t get myself to root for them. 27 titles is just way too much and should be enough forever; I wouldn’t cry if the Yankees never won again. However, they are one of those teams that should only get better from here on out. Adding some starting pitching to that team and a player here & there could help them make that jump.
So I guess everybody else is trying their best to win it all too, not just our Cubs. Even here in town, people are excited about the White Sox plan; I’m just wondering why he doesn’t give a crap about the Bulls. There’s still the Indians, even though they flamed out this year. The Nationals already canned Dusty, hoping to find that guy to take them to the next step. The Red Sox were pretty good this year too. And then there’s the Dodgers, who sit on the brink of their first World Series since 1988. I guess they’re due…

Although the Cubs didn’t show very well in my opinion, maybe it was because the Dodgers were that good. I hate to give them that much props, but… Yeah, I hope I’m wrong, and Houston can pull it out. I’ll probably tune in here and there, looking for those moments to watch LA lose. Sometimes those moments backfire though…
Like when Texas was playing St. Louis in the World Series. I was rooting for Texas for obvious reasons: I hate the Cardinals and the Rangers had never won before. I tuned in at the end of Game 6 I think it was, when the Cards were down to their last out. Then I watched in horror as the Rangers blew it and Cards came back to win. That hurt me, and I’m not even a Rangers fan. Tough way to go out for sure.
I hope not to witness something like that if I tune in and the Astros are up late. Maybe I won’t even get that chance; maybe this series won’t even be that close. I’m just shocked I’m still talking baseball.
I guess I’m getting over that season ending Cubs loss pretty quickly. The fact that I can talk baseball this soon after proves that I think. Maybe we can talk some more baseball, although there is another team in Chicago that may be turning the corner. Plenty to talk about…as always.

As I stated, baseball season is officially over now that the Cubs are done, but I will probably tune into a World Series game here or there. I wanted the yankees to pull off the upset of the astros, but that did not happen. So now I will be rooting for the astros to get the job done vs lala. They will be the underdogs as the series starts in la on Tuesday night. Will the dodgers keep playing out of their mind and make quick work of the astros? Or will houston find a way to crack the dodgers pitching? Should be an interesting series. I will not be glued to the tv watching every pitch, but if games are close late, I might tune in to see who wins. Wish the Cubs were still trying to go back2back, but there is always next year to climb that mountain again! Enjoy the offseason and be ready to play 162+ more…GO CUBS GO!!!
