Six down, five up. Two under, three over. What slump? This homestand has served as a nice bounce back for our Cubbies. They are heating up. They will never lose again. Haha.
It certainly has been fun to watch. Seeing the Cubs fly that W always makes the night better, and the next morning brighter. I already went on about how great it is to pound the dead birds…they are dying by the way. They’re done. They’re toast. Bury them boys. But then came the Marlins, another team that I love to hate for obvious reasons; 2003 for those of you who need a reminder. It’s funny though; I can actually mention that and not feel like someone just punched me in the stomach. It still sucks, but winning it all is the ultimate cure all.
Percentage points in first place is what the end result is. Back where we’re supposed to be. Jake has been looking good by the way. And Rizzo seems to be heating up. Heck, the whole team broke out the sticks on Tuesday night to beat the fish to a bloody pulp. Look forward to many more nights of double digit run scoring in Wrigley this summer. I need to get back out there.
It’s so fun when the Cubs are winning. Like I’ve said, it really feels like with that World Series win last year, and with the team built for long term, sustained success, that we’ve entered the golden era of Cubs baseball. Only more titles will completely validate that, but after last year, the sky is the limit. Why does the Cubs winning have such a positive impact on me?

How about the dancing bullpen? What started as a battle one day against the Brew Crew has turned into a celebration after every Cubs home run. Get your dancing shoes on boys. It’s fun, and just like I hope for my son and his teammates, we need to remember to have fun with it. Whether you’re sitting in the bullpen, or in your office at work, baseball, and life, are supposed to be fun. Nobody said it would be easy.
Life is not easy. but it’s all worth it. Just like that 162 game season. Ups and downs are the only things guaranteed. The Cubs have been middling it so far this year, but appear ready to make a move. The real test this homestand will come when Colorado comes to town. Battling with LA for the division crown is pretty shocking. I think it’s actually more shocking then the Cubs early season struggles.
But that’s all over. Undefeated in June, and heating up at the right time. Sit back and enjoy. Go Cubs!

Cubs have been loving the home cooking of Wrigley so far this homestand and season. Winning cures everything right? It sure helps recover from a 6 game road skid. Love the dancing bullpen. Whoever’s idea it was is pretty cool, especially since they cant be seen now that they are under the bleachers. 1 more vs the fish and then a 4 game series vs the rockies. 8-2 homestand sounds reasonable especially after a 5-0 start. Keep rolling Cubbies!
GO CUBS GO!!!
