Sometimes it’s rough being a sports fan. Yeah, I know, break out the violin… the Cubs just won the World Series and I’m bitching about stuff. Thank God they did win it all. It’s what I repeat to myself every time I’m feeling pissed. It gets me through the rough patch.
Not sweating the Cubs start, and nobody expected the Sox to do much, but 0-6 this weekend??? That’s not getting me too upset. I’m not sure if I’m recovered from the Hawks loss yet…
The Predators advanced on to the Conference Finals for the first time. Are you rooting for them? I wouldn’t say that, but I wouldn’t mind if they won it all. I definitely didn’t want to see the Blues win it, and I hope the Ducks get knocked out next. I don’t want to see the Penguins win it all again, so by process of elimination, I’d take Nashville over all of them. I don’t really hate them. It was such a dominating performance, and a no show by the Hawks, I didn’t really get a chance to build up that emotion. I definitely didn’t feel it before, with the Hawks kicking their ass. I guess in a way, seeing Nashville advance shows me that maybe it just wasn’t the Hawks collapsing, and that maybe the Preds were that good.

I’m not dwelling on the Bulls exit. At this point, I’m just hoping for anybody but Cleveland; you know how I roll. Seeing them sweep the first two rounds doesn’t surprise me, but I guess that’s supposed to be some big accomplishment? Yeah, I’m a hater, but all that praise for beating the Pacers and Raptors doesn’t impress me. The ECF will be the best competition, but that opposition will be beat up and tired, while the Cavs rest up. It’s going to get back to the rematch eventually. It’ll suck, but hopefully the Cavs lose.
And then there’s the Bears… still hoping for the best from that draft, and our new franchise QB. He doesn’t have to be much to be better than the one that was supposed to be. And now, he’s back in our lives??? It makes me sick. This guy that I can’t stand, that has the personality of a wet blanket, will be broadcasting games? I guess it don’t take much there either; some of the guys over the years have been brutal and by picking Jay, Fox is definitely making it polarizing. Smart move for Fox I guess, but seriously, I will NOT listen to him. I will sync up Joniak and Thayer…probably should have been doing that all along; this will force my hand.
Things don’t always go as you want, but if that is the price I have to pay in return for that Cubs title, I’d pay it every time. I may be “paying up” for a while, and that’s ok. We can’t have it all, all the time. So we go through a rough patch; that’s ok. If you’re feeling like that, repeat after me: the Cubs won the World Series, the Cubs won the World Series, the Cubs won…

Preds vs oilers hopefully. Wouldnt mind seeing edmonton win it all. Do not want the pens or caps…maybe Canadian final? Ottawa vs Edmonton? We shall see. Couple game 7s tonight. Definitely find myself watching hockey…nothing like playoff hockey even though it sucks bad that the Bhawks are out so early.
Playoff bball sucks. How weak are these teams that keep getting swept? I know the cavs and warriors are good, but jeez. Looking like 3rd title matchup in a row…go gsw, reluctantly.
Jay in the booth is better than jay behind center. Should have some good insight to the Bears but who really wants to hear it. Just a move by fox to get some pub.
GO CUBS GO!!! WORLD CHAMPS!!!
