November 28, 2016: Staying Positive

posted in: Cubs | 1

It’s not easy.  This Bears season has been a good test.  Actually, these last how many years has been a good test for us Bears fans.  Well, you know what… we stayed positive as Cubs fans and looked what finally happened.  One day, one day… but for now, let’s talk some Cubs!

My wife picked up one of those window stickers for me.  I have it in my office… the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series Champions.  So every time I look at my window, which I do all day long, I will see that sticker, and be reminded of the glory.  I have a couple Sports Illustrated’s in my office too.  The 1908/2016 World Series Champs cover and the All The Way Rizzo cover.  Classics.  I also received something pretty cool the other day.

It was a gift from somebody from Chicago living in Dallas.  The gift was a scorecard for each of the 7 World Series games.  It’s fricking awesome.  It’s printed on nice thick paper.  These will be in frames one day in my man cave.  It’s such a great way to relive that awesome series.

My dad taught me how to keep score at a baseball game.  I used to love doing it.  I think the last time I did it was about 5 years ago maybe.  One day, I will show my son how to do it too.  I’m thinking it’s becoming a lost art too.  It really makes sure you are following each and every batter during the game.  You should be doing that anyways.  But, things happen.. like beers, like conversation, like people watching, like taking walks around the stadium with your kids.  It’s all part of the fun at a ball game, but I don’t have one problem completely zoning in on every pitch.

If it’s not treated in early stages you to may be able to get snore-free sleep in just a short amount of time. see this drugstore now order cialis without prescription NF Cure capsules are mainly used for treating depression also. brand cialis 20mg It is probably most supplement treatment for erection problem as well as impotency exactly where adult cialis tadalafil males through the again adult age. Also, she finds it easy to ORGASM and experience the change check for more info viagra 25 mg for yourself. Baseball is not boring to me.. it never has been.  I could go to every game… that’s on my bucket list for one year.  That year is probably pretty far off in the future, but we will try to make it happen.  Every home game, every road game… how awesome would that be?

Although I have now seen it all in Chicago sports, and the Cubs finally did it, I don’t think this fandom is going away any time soon.  I thought maybe after getting this holy grail I would become less of a fan… or not as committed.  I don’t know.  Maybe that will just happen over time anyways, when my son starts to play sports, but for now, I really can’t wait until next year.

The coolest thing is that we’re not “waiting for next year” like we have been.  We’re waiting for next year because it will be the first year we’ll be the reigning, defending champs.  If you recall, the last time the Cubs won it all in 1908 it was a repeat; they won it in 1907 too.  Can you imagine that?  Is that getting too greedy?  I know once Boston won, I got sick of them immediately.  Will people get sick of the Cubs now too?

The answer is yes, and my reply is I don’t care.  I’m not.  I’m loving every second of this.  I will love every second of next year too, that’s why I can’t wait for it.  The Cubs will be defending their crown, and actually, will have a pretty good chance at doing so.  Well, I guess 162 will tell that story.  How many days until Opening Day?

Just hearing or seeing something about the World Champion Chicago Cubs still brings a smile to my face. It brings some positivity to a rough Bears season. It helped bridge that gap to an average Bulls squad and another Cup hopeful year for the Bhawks. Any way you put it, our next year finally came. Waiting another year now means that the Cubs will be the defending Champs who might be the favorites to win it all again. And why not, if you are keeping score, 2 in 109 years doesn’t sound bad…hahaha.
