Maybe I’m still mad about the Bears loss. Maybe I’m getting impatient waiting for the Cubs playoffs to start. Maybe I’m mad that I can’t write a Hate File yet about Jay Cutler because he is still in a Bears uniform. Either way, there’s some more hate that needs to come out… and it’s about a hometown guy.
It’s kind of appropriate that it’s the 25th Hate File; an anniversary of sorts for this fine feature. It’s ironic too because this was the high school number of today’s featured subject of hate. This is also his new number with his new team. I used to love him…
It’s a bit of a love hate story, but that love feels long gone. I think of the Guns N Roses song… I used to love her… I was so happy when we drafted him, so happy when he won rookie of the year, so happy when he was MVP, so excited about the prospects of the Bulls winning their first title since the dynasty. Then it happened, or should I say they happened. The injuries took this off road, and he never fully recovered. I stood by him through it all, until the very end; and now, I’m happy he’s gone.
We are of course talking about Derrick Rose, and the reason for the timing of this Hate File is his latest comments. It went something like this… I feel more love in New York than I ever did in Chicago. That struck a chord… and now I must deliver this.
We did love you; at the end of the day, it was not returned. At the end of the day, you screwed us. It’s hard to blame you for injuries, but we certainly can hold you accountable for your own words. We can certainly question your heart… and the desire and want to get back on the court to help your teammates… those teammates who were warriors. Matching up that with your words paints an ugly picture.

Isn’t that enough to last for generations? OK, I know you’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but seriously? Seriously, you have to worry about your NEXT contract while you still have 2 years left on your current contract? And oh yeah, you barely played the previous 3 years due to injuries but still got paid those millions and millions of dollars. So in a preseason press conference, you are worried about the money you may get 2 years from now, instead of 110% focus on what turned out to be the final year in the Thibs era championship window??? I spit on you.
So taking these comments, that came out of your mouth, and looking back at those times where I stood by you, supported you, “showed you love”, saying it’s his body and he has to make the ultimate decision. I feel like I was duped. I feel like the medical clearance provided by the doctors WAS enough, but you just didn’t want it. You just didn’t have the heart to come back on the court… and help “your” team… when they needed you most. To take for granted any postseason appearance, any opportunity at a title, because you didn’t want to play… it just makes me sick.
Now, it’s becoming clear. Now, I must hate you. Now, you say you’re getting more love in NYC than Chicago. You really are a few donuts short of a dozen. Every time you open your mouth you make yourself look like an idiot. The Knicks a superteam? So everything you say is either stupid or delirious… and now, you expect the courts to believe you in that rape case that just won’t go away? Good luck with that.

Growing up here, I found out that this is a city (and State) of hard work and you have to earn love from the fans by playing hard, and respecting what you have, as well as respecting yourself. Which “InjROSE” just f*&ked up by opening his mouth.
Dude, your making Boozer departure respectable compared to yours. Bulls wanted to trade you, you’re too injury prone man, get over it. The DRose chapter is over and we have moved on, so its better if you do the same.

Chicago and its fans wanted drose to be the guy, without question. Hometown boy playing on the Bulls, winning roy, then mvp…titles danced in our heads. Dont ever question how much you were supported and loved in Chicago. Even after the injury, and another, and another, we wanted you to come back and save the Bulls, but tou had already checked out. Yeah, you may have busted your ass rehabbing the first time, maybe even the second, but you started doing and saying all the wrong things. We already know how much money you were getting paid, even just to sit on the bench, but for you to make a comment about a new deal when you were still signed? After your injuries? Please. You will never be the guy you were. You will never play a full season. And I hate to tell you, but you will never win a title. You had those chances in Chicago, your town no more. Injuries played a part but so did your dumb ass. You want to keep taking jabs at Chicago…go for it, it must make you feel rosy. But no this, you blew it here…nobody else. Sweet home Chicago is no longer yours, and that is a good thing because you are no longer wanted or cared for. Enjoy the big apple…hope it is a poison one, which is exactly what you became!

Too much on point already said for me to go on. Only to say that I agree with all of the above and more. All those injuries, possibly from your own poor conditioning routine? Or just being lazy and not putting in the work? And all of that time re-habbing……from home while “your” team travelled or even played home? You couldn’t find the time or the ‘desire’ to come sit on the bench for every f’n game? You never were a true team player, or even a good team player.
