July 1, 2016: Coming and Going

posted in: Blackhawks, Bulls | 1

It’s July 1st and it’s moving day.  With Rose, Teuvo, BIckell, and Shaw already officially gone, who would be the next person to play their next game at the UC as a visiting player?

We knew it was coming.  Joakim Noah signed with the Knicks.  This one really sucks.  This one is a bit worse than Rose believe it or not.  Jo poured his heart and soul into every game he played.  It was no wonder why the Bulls heart went down the tubes last year:  first with his benching, then with his season ending injury.  Yes, there’s that injury word again.  Although Rose is much better known for his, Jo has had his share too.  Still, the one thing that was never questioned with Jo, as it has been with Derrick, was his heart.

I’ve talked about Noah a lot in these pages.  I talked about how I wasn’t happy they drafted him, and how he worked his tail off to earn the respect of every single Bulls fan, including me.  He proved with hard work that you can do anything.  OK, maybe that can’t get you a jumper, but everything else Noah did, he got better at.  He was a defensive beast, winning defensive player of the year.  He was a point-center.. distributing the ball with Rose out… helping that offense run… flirting with triple doubles almost on a nightly basis.  He went hard… blocks, dunks, fouls.  He even improved his free throw shooting.  Yes, he was never the 20 a night kind of guy, but he’d give you in the teens, and everything else too.  He was a stat sheet filler… I should know, I had him on my fantasy basketball team for years.  But more importantly than that, he was the heart of the Bulls.  Now, our heart is gone.

It’s a tough process to go through.  First one of the best coaches, then our much maligned hometown hero, now our heart and soul on the court.  The big 3 if you may… are now, all, gone.  It’s a trying time for us Bulls fans.  I guess pressing that reset button was needed… well, it was needed after we dumped Thibs.  And for that mistake, GarPax should be gone.  But we again, hope they can figure out their head from their ass, and put a solid team on the court.  Have you heard some of the guys we’re looking at?

Rondo?  Man, I guess it’s come to this.  I can’t stand his ass, but if he puts on that Bulls uniform, I will support him.  Dion Waiters?  You have to be kidding me right?  Solomon Hill?  Does that mean Taj goes next?  And then that name again… D Wade.  A Chicago guy done right burned us once before… is he simply playing with our emotions again?  I don’t want him either, but I’m not too worried… he ain’t coming here.  Why would he?  Why would anybody?  I guess that’s the point… If the Bulls want to press that reset button, make sure it goes all the way down.  GarPax should be part of it.

You can’t lose everybody, right?  OK, I like Buckets… glad he’s still here.  But after him, it’s looking rough, and it’s not like the Bulls are going to pull some big surprise and get a great player… it’s going to be something like those names I already mentioned.  Oh yeah, and E’twaun Moore is gone too… another local product heading east, this time to Charlotte.  He was a great player coming off the bench… it seems like that’s all we’re left with after JB.

It’s tough right now as a Bulls fan.  But, as a Bulls fan… a true Bulls fan… you have to root for the Bulls no matter what… and I will.  I was a fan way before GarPax, and I’ll be a fan way after they’re gone.  Regardless of what shitty player puts on a Bulls uniform, I will support them.  I’ll still head to the UC, and actually, will enjoy one benefit of this reset… the secondary market ticket prices.  Cheap, cheap, cheap.

There’s been a lot of coming and going… more going, but we did have a new/old arrival, and that’s Brian Campbell.  Welcome back.  I wasn’t that crazy about you the first time around, but you were part of my favorite Blackhawks team in 2010.  At least Bowman has a little more leash, although… I read an interesting fact.  There is not one Bowman draft pick on the Hawks roster right now.  That is not good, although 3 Cups trumps that.  I hope all this BS that GarPax are doing doesn’t rub off on Stan.  Stay classy Stan.

How will our teams look next year?  It is shaping up now.  Either way, I’ll be looking forward to putting on that Bulls and Blackhawks jersey once again.  I’ll be at multiple Bulls games, and hopefully 1-2 Hawks game.  I am a die hard fan, and no matter how hard it is, I roll with my teams.  I just wish we didn’t have dipshits running one of them…

Welcome back mr. campbell! You will be a nice addition to the D and a good move for the Hawks!
Adios noah! Tough to see you go after all the heart, hustle, and muscle you put into this Bulls club. It is pretty obvious that the Bulls are officially rebuilding but not sure into what. You deserve to get a title noah but not sure nyk is where it’s at. Enjoy playing with melo and drose. Try to stay healthy while you spend that ridiculous amount of money in that contract. $72million!?! WOW. These nba contracts are completely out of control. Bulls will miss you noah…not looking forward to another rebuilding mission!
