May 26, 2016: No No Noah

Hey… a little Bulls talk to throw in there.  That’s the great thing about Chicago sports.  Honestly, I could pick any one of my 4 teams and do exclusive blogs just about them… 365 days a year.  I share the love here, even with that 5th team the Sox, but if I had to… if I had to focus on only one team all year round, I could do it… easily.

Yeah, I’d have to introduce some more features, and talk about some history, but it could be done.  But don’t worry… we’re not changing the format just yet.  We’ll continue to share the convos across all Chicago sports.  For today, we’re going to shoot the shit about our bball team… one of the NBA’s best franchises.

Although that statement is true, it certainly doesn’t feel like that lately… and that pisses me off.  What the hell happened to this Bulls team?  I’ve talked about this at length, and all of us are familiar and have our theories, but it’s just a damn shame.  And now, it looks like we will lose another one of our guys.

I didn’t like when the Bulls drafted Noah; I’m on record on this site saying that.  Yet, the way he busted his ass, and made himself into the player that would be mentioned in the MVP discussions a couple years back, is something admirable.  He embodies us.  He worked hard, and made himself great.  He’s all heart baby… something the Bulls sorely missed in last year’s debacle.

Now, there are rumors that he is gone; that isn’t so far fetched.  We could have sort of expected that one.  Even if he did want to stay in Chicago, which I believe deep down he would love to, don’t think the Bulls would give him the time of day, even though they are saying differently.  I mean, how exactly does Noah fit into the Fredberg scheme?

For example, in many drug stores, you can buy good quality sildenafil 10mg. Honestly, I don’t know if anybody can really predict what Noah has left in the tank.  Certainly injuries have taken their toll, and for this guy who was never an offensive force, where does that leave him?  I’ll tell you where… he’d have to lean on what made him great… that heart, hustle, and muscle as Stacey would say.  Isn’t that worth some bucks in today’s NBA?  Wouldn’t that be welcome on any NBA team, especially this heartless Bulls team?  I think so.

Max contract?  OK, let’s not get crazy.  But if the Bulls and Noah would sit down and come up with a fair deal… and yes, is any NBA contact fair nowadays the way they throw money around?  So Noah should still make a bunch of money, and that’s OK.  I wouldn’t sign him for a half a decade, but 2-3 years seems sensible.  Yeah, I know they’re looking at drafting a big man, and that’s great, but Pau is most likely gone.  So Jo and Taj would be the big men of choice, with the rookie and surprising Feliciano coming off the bench.  That doesn’t seem bad.

The fact is, if the Bulls are counting on Noah’s offense, they’re in big trouble.  They need the guys paid to score, to score, and rely on Noah for everything else.  Would offering him decent money in a contract prevent us from signing somebody else?  Maybe, but honestly, who else would the Bulls get?

We’ll see as the offseason develops, but I’m still holding out hope.  I’m still hoping that one of my favorite all time Bulls is back with the squad.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Thibs tried to swoop in with an offer.  With that young bunch of Wolves up there in Minny, a veteran, heart guy could prove valuable.  Thibs knows all about that.  The Bulls should know too… and they shouldn’t let him go.

No No Noah… not you.  Sit down and talk with us, yes, even if you think Gar is a douche bag.  Let’s be fair.  Let’s work out a deal.  First Deng, then Hinrich… then there was Marquise Teague… just kidding.  What a waste that was.  Anyways, you get my drift.  He should be a Bull for life.  And in my opinion, it wouldn’t just be sentimental value; there would be real value in signing him, and he could help this Bulls team get back on track.  Yeah, I really do believe that.  Make it happen GarPax.  Step in Jerry… for a good cause this time.  Keep Joakim a Bull.  Do something right.

Not sure Jo wants to stay. I don’t think the money would sway him, if another ‘more desirable’ team shows actual interest. I believe Jo has a couple of landing spots in mind, but I’m also sure he won’t share them publicly. But it won’t be about the money. He’s more interested in what he can do to make ‘his team du jour’ a winning team. I do not believe that is the Bulls. I think he’s gone. He should take Rose him. That’s where any rebuilding should start.

Drafting noah was a terrible decision…that is what I thought back then, but he has worked his tail off to be the heart and soul of this Bulls team. That is, up until last year when fredberg decided to bench him. Wow, what a bonehead move that turned out to be. Yes, noah did get hurt, but the move set the tone in the Bulls locker room, and it was not a good one. Now noah has a decision to make, and who can blame him if he wants to leave after how he was treated last year. It isnt about the money now. Noah wants to win. He deserves a ring. I hope it is here in Chicago, but who knows how long that may take. Either way, noah is a Bull for life, and hopefully next year!
