Today is an anniversary of sorts. Two years ago I started writing this blog. Then I started this website, and the rest is history.
Well, yes, it’s two years of material covering everything and anything Chicago sports. It may be a little light on the Sox, but I’m hitting hard in every other area. Not until you do something like this…writing every day for 2 years…and not just some 150 word blurb either…do you really appreciate what it takes. It’s not easy.
I always say it would be easier if this was my full time gig. I’m sure it would be, but not sure we’ll see that day. And you know what…that’s ok. Yes, I do see bigger things one day, but I do it because I love it.
Chicago sports is a passion of mine. This is what helps get through the tough times; the time when life gets busy. Knowing how important family is to me, some days it gets really tough…it’s only going to get tougher. Then with a new job this past year, we’re full to the brim. But I’m always ready for another cup, and I don’t even drink coffee. I’m always ready to take the time, on my work PC, my wife’s laptop, my iPad, or my iPhone, to knock out another entry and keep this streak going. You know, there’s always something to talk about.
The ups and downs of this passion are crazy. So many good times…so many bad times. As long as the good outnumber the bad, you’re doing ok. Kind of like life over the long haul. You take it all in stride, while keeping it moving forward. I don’t consider myself the most creative individual, but I try.

Maybe you like the Hate Files. That’s a fan favorite. Or how about the feature on the 85 Bears, or the one on the 1991 Bulls that’s still ongoing? Maybe some of my lists, or player tributes in the players club. My fantasy feature bombed, but I tried to spinoff to an ATS feature. Whatever you like, I got it. I’m always up for more ideas and more contributors.
We’ve taken this thing on social media finally this past year, with my Twitter account @jski22. Definitely more improvements to be made, but there’s that whole time thing. Writing every day has always been the most important to me; that’s what I really enjoy.
I guess that’s the formula for success at the end of the day. Doing what you love is a good place to be. Doing it your way. Having something of your own. So we’ll keep it there…and it’ll grow…eventually… I’m not stressing about it. I’m doing just fine.
So another year of ups and downs lie ahead. Thanks for reading, following, and commenting. I really do appreciate it. So enough about this. There’s more to talk about. It’s time to talk about one of those downs…right now.

keep up the good work. i’m amazed that you are able to write stuff every day. sometimes it’s just fluff, sometimes it’s on current stuff, sometimes it’s that hate file, and sometimes it’s about stuff that you know and other times about stuff that i know took time to actually research some date/time/person/team, whatever. as one of your more ardent followers, i appreciate the time and effort you put into it. again, keep up the good work.

2 years, congrats! Has to be tough to keep it going each and every day. I know it is tough to just comment on each blog, but I am trying to keep my streak intact, too. Look forward to the blogs and being able to celebrate, vent, talk crap, or just get my opinion out there. Keep on keepin on…hope this leads to something big, the sooner the better!
