March 21, 2016: One More Time

It’s a constant saying from my son.  When wrapping up playing basketball for the day, it’s “one more shot?”.  When getting ready for bed watching TV, it’s “one more show?”.  When reading books in bed, it’s “one more book?.  Usually I say ok.

I got the text about 4:30pm on Monday, and it was another offer for a Bulls game. I’m glad to be on that list when my brother in law has available tickets on game day to a game he’ll be unable to attend; very appreciative of that. He’s more than happy to send his godson and his father to a game; sometimes we’ll take my wife too. Monday night was one of those nights, and we were headed to the UC one more time.

This time it was the Kings. I really dislike this team. They’ve been teetering on a hate file for a while. All it’s gonna take is one more loss at the hands of this gang of clowns with Boogie Cousins as bozo.  I thought it might be happening.

The Bulls played well. They held a lead at the half and at the start of the 4th quarter. I was worried though. I know the Kings always bring their A game against us. Many, many bad losses both in Sacramento and at the UC were remembered.  Plus the way the Bulls have been playing all year…getting a lead and blowing it in the 4th quarter… it seemed destined to happen.

Then it happened, or didn’t happen depending how you look at it.  The Bulls held on.  The Bulls played well enough until the final whistle to get the W.  It was similar to their victory in SacTown earlier this year.  I thought the same thing.  But the Bulls prevailed, both times.

That’s all we can ask for.  Fight the good fight, and try to win some battles.  I decided to re-up on my website for one more year.  For a little less than $150, the blog remains up and running; the daily streak of posting will continue.  The daily title picking, subject choosing, and article typing moves ahead. We’ll continue to grind out those small victories, preparing for the big one.

It was another fun night at the UC topped with a Bulls victory.  The playoffs remain a strong possibility.  This may be the last run for this group.  One more time sounds about right.
