Every…. single…. Bulls… loss… is…. the…. end…. of…. the…. world.
The world ended again last night. In this latest edition of overreaction, I talk us all off the ledge, and try to convince us that it’s not as bad as it looks.
Playing in Utah has always been a tough game… as have most stops on one of the two Bulls extended road trips. Between the Circus Trip and the Disney on Ice Trip, the Bulls longest two road trips of the year have always been challenging; this year is no different. At least we beat the hapless Lakers, right? The Clippers are no chumps… and Utah is a pretty decent squad, and like any NBA team, they tried to defend their home court… and they did… against our Bulls. It seems as though we’ve been over this before.
I’ll be the first to say the Bulls have been inconsistent this year… maddeningly inconsistent. I’ll second that notion that the Bulls effort has been shoddy at times… frustratingly shoddy. I’ll also jump on board that Hoiberg bash train for a few stops, because although it’s not all his fault, I STILL MISS THIBS!!! So don’t tell me about overreaction… I know about overreaction. This year has got my blood boiling more than most.

Yet, after last night’s loss, I wasn’t in such a horrible place. Yes, Derrick shouldn’t have taken a bow with 15 seconds left in the game; I said it as soon as he did it. That was stupid because the game wasn’t over yet… and because they came back and beat us, he even looks more stupid. Yes, Taj should have grabbed that board on that 2nd missed free throw at the end of regulation. If anybody is hard hat lunch pail on this team, if anybody brings his A game every game, if anybody has been through all the battles this team has been through the past number of years, it’s Mr. Gibson. Shake it off Taj. Yes, I agree that not scoring in OT… for the 2nd time this year… is flat out ridiculous. The fact that Jimmy didn’t take a shot through the first three minutes of OT was mind boggling. Yes, I can point the finger many different places after last night’s loss. Yes, I could be very mad after another game slipped away. But I’m not.
I’m giving the Bulls bashing a break for a minute. I’m not going to freak out and lose my mind over another loss. Here’s some stuff that we should know already. We shouldn’t expect that A effort every game. We should continue to expect inconsistency. The Bulls will NOT be as good as the Thibs Bulls in the regular season. Yet, when the calendar turns to that 2nd season, the Bulls will surely be there… then we shall see. Then we will know. Yes, maybe we all know what’s going to happen already, but only the playoff season will tell us what we need to know.
Until then, let’s give it a rest. This team has got problems, no doubt, but they’re still a decent team. And if they could get better and peak at the right time, they could do some damage. Beat Cleveland? Maybe. Beat San Antonio? Probably not. Beat Golden State? Will anybody? Questions will be answered then, so until then I won’t blog about the Bulls again. Haha… just kidding, of course I can’t do that, but what I will do, is relax… and you should too.

Bulls are what they are…inconsistently talented. Playoffs are a given. What will happen when the Bulls are there is the big question mark. Maybe they will have their horns in a row by then and surprise us, or maybe they will painfully bow out again, like drose did last night…dbag!
