January 20, 2016: Buck Nasty

That’s how I’m feeling tonight after seeing the lackluster Bulls get pasted by the so-so Warriors.  Not usually like this, but it’s oozing out tonight.

Usually this role is reserved to my perfect sports show co-host, Buck himself. He’s constantly hating on Chicago teams, which he knows gets under my skin. He’s all about that national scene…the Mothership…we’ve had some good back and forths over the years. How many now Buck, 20 plus right?  Anyways, we’d be those hosts that are constantly bickering…it would make for good TV/radio, maybe a podcast one day. You know where Buck originated of course, right?

The Chappelle Show of course. If you don’t know, now you know. Youtube it. Player hater of the year episode. Buck Nasty gets nominated for getting his best friend’s girlfriend pregnant, then tricking his best friend into raising the little MFer. Classic stuff.   So yeah, I’m in full hater mode tonight.

First off, the Warriors ain’t that good. They’re already behind the Bulls 72-10 pace, and with the NBA and its ‘gotta rest players motto’, the record is safe.  Comparing them to those Bulls is hilarious. So what they just beat the Cavs and Bulls by like 60 points combined, maybe the Cavs and Bulls just ain’t that good.  Place your bet in Vegas now:  Spurs all the way.

I don’t care about the Cavs, but what about our Bulls?  Pathetic effort.  Chucking up trey after trey…why are we trying to turn this team into an up and down the court offensive shootout team?  That ain’t us. 1-20 from 3 point land?  Did I hear that right? How about going to the rack and playing a little defense too?

The Bulls let me down. We were pumped up for tonight, with my Jordan jersey on and my son with his Butler jersey.  They flopped. So much for playing with some organizational pride and defending not only the home court but the 72-10 holy grail.

We beat this team with Thibs as coach…just pointing that out. But he was the problem. He was the reason we couldn’t get over the hump. Can we even see that hump now?

Ok I’m done.  But I hate to see this Bulls team lose their identity while the window closes. I hate to see one of my favorites not fit in, come off the bench, get hurt, and maybe never see the court in a Bulls uni again.  I hate the fact that Derrick will have to be treated with care the rest of his career.   And finally, I hate the fact that we fired one of the best coaches in the NBA, and can’t wait until he’s back in the league having success.  Ok, I’m done..for real this time.

Let me go back to my positive, Chicago loving ways.  I’ll leave the hating and band wagon riding (got ya!) for you Buck.  Anyways, you didn’t even win the award that year. It was Silky Johnston who was the winner for calling in a bomb threat at the Special Olympics.  Kiss my ass. Kiss my ass. I’m the biggest hater. Hahaha…
