January 16, 2016: Sitting Out

Sometimes it’s just best to sit one out.  Last weekend, Vegas was all around us. I ended up 2-2 on my picks. I should have listened to my first instinct and taken KC against Houston. I overestimated the public money on the Chiefs I think. That was a blowout. Then Vegas stepped in.

The end of that Cincy Pitt game was a joke. Ok, horrible penalty that put the Steelers a 49 yard field goal from winning it. But that wasn’t enough. They had to give them 15 more yards just to be sure. You had an assistant coach, who just happens to be an ex-jag off player, on the field talking trash. It’s against the rules for him to be out there. But a penalty was called on PacMan Jones…when was the last time you even heard of him. It had been a while since he was in the middle of any kind of trouble…but when it was him that the penalty was on, he was the perfect scapegoat;  people understood why…it made sense. But we know better. It was Vegas giving those Steelers a hand. And they won the game, but didn’t cover.

So no picks this week and I’m happy. I’ll be back for the final 3 games which will determine if I’m above or below 500 for the year; not a good place to be gambling considering the juice. Maybe I can pick the last 3 winners…
