November 13, 2015: Week 10 Bears at Rams

So you feeling pretty good after that MNF victory?  Ready to run the rest of the schedule?  Well, I’m not so sure we can keep this going… not even for this week.

I’m fricking glad we won a game.  After blowing the previous 2 weeks, we finally came through, grabbed the lead, held the lead, and brought home the big W.  Just imagine if we would have grabbed the previous 2…  5-3 instead of 3-5.  Yep, now that would have been exciting.

As it stands, the Bears are appearing on a slight upswing; one win will do that for you.  Looking at the rest of their schedule, I could definitely see 8-8… just as I predicted 10 weeks ago.  Before I pat myself on the back, we have to string some wins together.  Back to that remaining schedule… this was one game I had marked as a big L.

The Rams are a good defensive team.  The big pub on them this week is that dirty hit on Bridgewater.  Hey, at least it wasn’t helmet first.  Boo hoo Minnesota.  What’s the matter with a good shoulder hit?  Yes, I know, he was in the process of sliding, and it was a definite penalty, but grow up already.  This IS football not soccer.  It is as John Fox puts it, like getting in a car wreck every week.  Do we have our seat belts buckled this week?

Big question heading into this one, is if Alshon is going to go.  I didn’t like the Bears chances before that late breaking injury.  You have to admit, the guy does get injured a lot.  You also have to admit, when he is on the field, he is a beast.  It should make for an interesting contract negotiation, but if we don’t pay him, somebody will.  Let’s see how this Bears offense performs against a good defense on the road.  You know, Forte is still out… I like Langford… again, let’s see him do it against a much better defense.  The Rams are a little more than defense too…

The one good thing about this week’s game is it’s in St. Louis.  Yes, I do know that is technically a road game, but if you think San Diego was full of Bears fans, watch this week.  Lots of people will make that trek down 55 for this one.  And we even have an ex-Bear in the house, but he’ll be patrolling the enemy’s sidelines.  I always wanted Jeff Fisher to coach the Bears.  He was my #1 option; Fox was 2nd believe it or not.  They’ll go heads up Sunday.  How will it play out?

 I do think this will be close.  The Bears have played close games all year, besides the Seattle game and the 2nd half of the Arizona game.  If I was a betting man, I would definitely take the 7 points.  But… I don’t think the Bears and Mr. Clutch (ha!) pull this one out.  I hope I’m wrong.  I will definitely be watching though, and cheering the boys on.  Go Bears!
